im aware of it. he also ran 11.9@115 with drag radials, not too bad. So far, trap speeds seem to be roughly 116mph on average.

115 is def NOT a 52x rwhp car, even at 4200lb. My car has gone 118mph with a race weight of 4400lbs @ 425rwhp.

3.31 final with a 2.66 first gear ratio, so with a 7k redline, it's at 62mph before you have to shift.

Even if theres a mustang racing at the sametime, whos to say that mustang was driven well or not driven well. We have nothing to go off of being that every track is different.

We all know one thing tho, and thats what a car should run in the 1/4 mile. No matter what dragstrip one races at we will know whats a decent time or crappy time. Even with the variables like elevation and weather.

if both cars are shipped to the moon and used as moon buggys, the zl1 is clearly the better car because its irs will allow the tires to gain more traction on the dusty surface in a reduced gravity situation.

I guess we can scapegoat the corvette on this one, but that dynamic/hierarchy isn't anything remotely new, and even then I'm not totally sure I agree. I would question it because as it is right now (and at least until 2014 when the C7 is out), the ZL1 preforms better than a Base Corvette and GS, and if you blindly quote 'Ring times, a ZL1 is also right there with a regular Z06 without the Z07 package. When I consider this, I'm not too inclined to believe GM pulled their punches much when developing the ZL1.

IMO what Ford has done with the 5.0, 302, and the GT500 is outstanding for the 1/4. That being said if I had the money I would go with the ZL1 if track times are true and it beats them all on a road course because in the long run you get more for your money its fast in the 1/4 and even faster on the road course stock for stock. More power can always be added to make it even, but what I would like to know is the amount of money that would be needed to make any of the Mustangs beat or match the ZL1 at the road courses.

Completely agreed! I like your thinking out of the Box!

How's the Infinity holding up? I love Infinitys, In my opinion they have one of the best sounding exhaust. The 350 and 370Z too.

Very nice, so now the question is how much boost are they running and how much more is safely moddable? The reason i ask is other than upping the motor size slightly, i`m just wondering if they upped the boost from the previous model to get most of the new power or not. If most of the new power is from addnl boost, it would stand to reason that pushed to the limit boost wise, ie.. pullying down, it won`t make much more power than the previous model if both are pushed to their max safe boost level. Stock for stock big diff but both modded to max safe boost might not be that much difference.
