Abuse of power. You should be worried about the abuse of the system. How come know one was worried about border control 40-50 years ago. You needed a sponser to come into the country first of all. People back then wanted to come over here to make a better life for themselves. They built this country to what it is today. ALL types of people. But it just seems that most of the people that come here now want to fly under the colors of the American flag to get everthing for free but dont want to assimulate and abide what the colors stand for. As far as working sponsors. The sponsor needs to prove that the labor provided by the immigrant cannot be provided by any citizen. At least in California.

Well, I was addressing Padre's statement about the 4th amendment. That's what I was addressing there. I am not disagreeing with a word you have said there.

For temp labor under H-2A, Dept of Homeland Security it states: The employer must demonstrate that there are not sufficient U.S. workers who are able, willing, qualified, and available to do the temporary work.

Like Mike Rowe said again, so much emphasis has been placed on higher education that the labor functions that keep things moving have been overlooked. Creates a void that has to be filled. Thus you get the "willing" piece of the sentence.

Hypothetical situation ...

I am a white Canadian. Lets say, for whatever reason, I end up in Alabama as an illegal. I'd be able to take advantage of the system as well as any Mexican could, so it doesn't really matter that I'm a Canadian: I'm as big a problem as any one person is. One day, I get stopped by the cops, and I'm unable to produce ID. Question is, how do you think the cops will treat me: as an American that forgot his wallet, or as an illegal immigrant abusing the system? Or, flip the entire thing around ... how about a legal Mexican immigrant that actually forgot his wallet? Just something to think aboot ... er ... abowt

This is a problem right now. If i'm driving down the road and get pulled over and i don't haven my driver's license the officer can detain me. Now they probably will ask me some basic questions and if i come off as credible, they will probably let me go. I would hope that most officers would afford people the same treatment. If they think you are suspicious though then your getting locked up until they can prove or disprove your story. Bottom line, carry your ID at all times. There is really no good excuse not to have it.

Padre, I believe if you had the sole choice on what to do. And the FINAL choice, you would grant amnesty to ALL illegals here now and make it simple to just apply, get your visa and come on in.

I can't even get started on this cause I feel so strongly. All I will say is I applaud Arizona, Oklahoma, and Alabama for this. Obviously the feds won't handle it so time for someone to.
