For my senior project/thesis I think the initial treatment for approval was 20 pages, fully annotated and cited in MLA with endnotes as well as a 10 source bibliography.

The final version was 63 pages (72 with bibliography, table of contents and acknowledgements) as well as a full presentation to faculty and attendees at the Southern Oregon Arts and Research Symposium..good times.

Ahhh I remember the good ole days of MLA, I had to do all of that in Turabain format while adding foot notes and end notes discussing the sources in the middle of the paper.

It's rarely about the paper.

It is more so an exercise in your ability to research and analyze information, arrange it coherently and draw a conclusion from abstract sources. Basically an example of your critical thinking skills.
