I think they might not have even decided on a victim at the time of the filming. They said the victim wasn't important for this season on the talking dead, and that would be something for next season. The cast really worked up the hype with all those interviews about how much this episode "got to them". All lies to get ratings, and this is just another ratings ploy for the season 7 premiere. If they wanted to portray Negan as the bad guy he is, they should have shown the victim and reations of the group. I am a fan of the show, but this was a fail!

WHAT A FAIL.....on two fronts.....they doubled the amount and length of the commercials, and as expected, ended in a total cliffhanger. I wish I had DVR'ed it and just watched the last 10 minutes.

as far as who got Luciled.....there is really no telling. the only ones that were truly safe are Rick, Morgan and Carol (seeing as how Morgan and Carol weren't there) the rest are truly fair game, however, my guess, in this order, #1-Eugene, #2-Glenn, #3-Daryl

By time I finished catching up on last week's Walking Dead/Talking Dead it was already 30 minutes into last nights episode. For over the first half I was skipping commercials and didn't notices they were longer than normal.

Not to mention, if one of them would have slipped about the finale, if they actually do not have a character selected to be killed already, then the own who slips would probably be the one.

Maybe I missed something, but did they really think they could still see this doctor for Maggie at Hilltop after encountering all those roadblocks? Did they think the Saviors are leaving Hilltop unwatched now?

The actions of Rick and his whole group are really getting less and less credible. This I want to go, no you are not going, yes I am, I'm going anyway, I'm leaving don't follow, I'm coming after you anyway, is so played out and thin.

Even the walkers, (remember them?) are just a time filler occaisional nuisance anymore. The Saviors stomp through the woods, whistling, causing havoc, but no walkers bother them when they make noise.

The only real "plot" is to guess who in the group might get killed this time. They should all have been dead several times over already. Sorry, but the show for me offers nothing really enticing or fresh. More of a Peyton Place soap opera with dirty clothes...In fact, it's actually getting boring.

And you wonder why Carol left the group, it`s this kind of crap that drove her crazy, she saves their butt`s at Terminus and then they find a safe place in Alexandria, then Rick and the gang go looking for more trouble in the form of Negan and The Saviors, then her and Maggie get caught and escape! She has to be thinking "Screw this I`m outta here".

AND one other thing, these cliff hangers are getting to be old, if the show is really all that good you don`t need them to draw the audience for the next season!

I agree, if they would have showed the member of the group getting killed it would have set the tone for Negan a lot better. Fans would have been angry with this new character. The anticipation for the next season would have been high just to see how they retaliate to Negan's actions. The way things ended everyone is too hung up on who got the bat instead of thinking of Negan being this terrible new threat.... The worst thing is they will probably start season 7 at a later time back in Alexandria and not reveal who it was until midway into the first episode.

Glad to read through these recent comments and see everyone else was annoyed and underwhelmed by last night's episode! That was not worthy of 90 mins. That was a mediocre episode at best. I agree with what was said above, as soon as I hit that first road block, we're turning back home.

I'd also agree that I won't be surprised if season 7 ep 1 doesn't pick up where this one left off. I bet they don't show who got the bat till ep 2. I'd rather be furious at them for killing off Beth than that over-hyped, underwhelming ending.

No one may get this reference but all that came to my head watching the ending was South Park a long time ago. Mid season break they did a two part episode showing who Cartman's father was. When it came time to air part two (part one ended with a cliffhanger) and say who the father was, the creators of South Park decided to play a joke and air an episode of nothing but Terrance and Philip. Then the next week they showed part two. In retrospect it's hilarious, but at the time people were fuming!

I still like the show but I may quit watching it on AMC and go back to watching the previous season on Netflix.
