first time i try to DIY a headphone plug. iv worked with soldering irons before so that isnt my problem. found out that they use thread for a very thin layer of insulation you cant see even when you take the wires our of the outer plastic layer of insulation. i got a short in a test before soldering thing i did next time will be better
