If you are a right handed shooter, shooting low and left is usually a sign of milking. That is where you are tightening your strong hand little and ring fingers as you are firing.

For a right hander, pulling to the left is also a sign that you are putting too much finger on the trigger. And putting too little finger on the trigger will cause you to pull to the right. The pull is only slight, 1-2 degrees off angle, but over 10-15 yards that could mean a few inches.

A lot of people will naturally shoot low with new handguns as they overcompensate for the expected kick and they will subconsciously pull down on the gun just as soon as they pull the trigger.

My suggestions are, practice pulling the trigger with the gun empty until you get your grip set and are comfortable with it and record yourself shooting the next time you go to the range from different angles. This way you can see what you are doing to cause the pulling. Until you see and understand what you are doing to cause the pulling you won't be able to correct it.

Picked up my Keltec KSG shotgun yesterday. It feels and shoots great! Can't wait till they get more of these on the market.

ACOGs shine at distance because of the magnification. They do ake some 1.5x and 2.0x models though. Shoot both and see which you like. Another friend went to Afghanistan for DOD purposes. I lent him a 1.5x ACOG and an aimpoint m4. He tried both on an hk416 and sent the ACOG back. I personally use an aimpoint h1 on my patrol rifle.
THIS! With a magnified sight it will typically be difficult to engage targets at close ranges.

Personally I use an EOtech with a flip to side 4X magnifier. That way I have flexibility and in a close combat situation you've got great Situational Awareness.

Watched through the entire Firefly series again this week (LOVE that show!) Anyway, noticed that Zoe's main gun of choice (a Mare's Leg) looked like it'd be a fun one to shoot. Anyone have one of these, or shot one before? Saw a vid on youtube for a JB Custom model that they said was accurate out to 150 yards, wondering if that's typical for a mare's leg or if it's just cuz it's a JB Custom. May have to snag one of these at the next gun show...

For a 5.56 you have several options. AAC M4-2000 with blackout fast attach, Gemtech trek or Halo, Surefire FA556, SWR, Elite Iron, Yankee Hill Phantom. There are a ton of companies. For pricing, just about every dealer I have found charges retail so whatever is on the website is what you pay. Don't forget to factor in the one time $200.00 stamp.
