Because I can't visually imprint what's in my head and what I kno is true through actual experience of seeing it for myself with my own eyes... I'll use this visual aid from C&D's recent lightning laps that is a fairly unbiased and true look at actual handling, not just speed if I have ever seen one: ![]() GOOD LORD... that completely goes against your theory... as the numbers show that the Camaro is certainly more capable than the GT.. but damn near as fast as the GT500. Sadly.. both the GT and the SS are better race track runners than the much more expensive and much more powerful GT500.As i said before... if the new '11 GT is even a smidge better than the 2010 GT... even with 10 more HP the GT500 will be essentially OBSOLETE. A simple bump in HP for the Camaro SS to the Corvette spec LS3 would render the GT500 defenseless as it stands now... the Z28.. should be considered... well OVER-KILL.

![]() BTW you are the one that said they didn't have the funds to build a Ford engine... so by your own statement it's harder to build a fun Ford engine economically...Dollar for Dollar you get more HP from a Chevy.. Always have, always will.. Naw, I don't need to come up there just to find out something I can experience here locally... Just want you to know I said it just for funnin' with ya, I respect Fords and their engines,. It really does not matter one way or the other to me..

A. Nobody gives a shit about 6 cyl mustangs and camaros except for girls and girly men. (its a joke guys with 6 bangers, dont get yer panties in a bunch) B. The mustangs is still balls down the ugliest car from the rear end. C. Its still going to attract effing the typical douche nerd mustang driver that thinks their car is faster than anything. Yes your typical GT mustang driver is the domestic equivelent of a BMW driver. They think the car makes them cool or something. ![]() D. It will be a drivers race again. The mustang isnt going to stomp anything. And by anything I mean a SS camaro. E. Mods...they will probably not be as effective (again) for the mustang motor, as it will be running more efficently from the factory with DOHC. So mod for mod the lsx motor will still be a better performer. Oh and by the way, there is no...0...zip, zada difference between a mustang track pack and adding sway bars to a ss. I know some of you dummies will say "that doesnt count, its aftermarket!" A swaybar upgrade is a sway bar upgrade is a swaybar upgrade. Quit yer crying. You can always go back to the deserted mustang sites and maybe try to repopulate them. Its funny how many camaro sites came out of nowhere and are sucessful, but mustang sites just sit around and collect interwebz dust. |

I take it you drive a mustang.
Anyways. Dont you think its funny that ford had to upgrade the suspension of the gt to make it more competitive with the ss...with no suspension options? So your going to tell me that power cant overcome a weight issue? LOL. How the hell do you think the gt500 gets around? Ever notice the gtr is also 3900 lbs. Not saying the Camaro is anywhere near that level of handleing, but its stupid to think that power doesnt help. Anyways buddy you can bench race away, while I actually have my car. Yes mustang drivers are mostly tools...thats why they come here instead of going to mustang sites. They dont even get along with each other. Have fun on $1000 cams alone. Your car is going to get walked mod for mod. If you ever get one, and are not just a mouth behind a keyboard. |

A lot of people care about the v-6, and you will too when the V-8's go bye bye. Your looking at the future when your looking at the V-6 and ford makes a good one. B. The mustangs is still balls down the ugliest car from the rear end. This is your opinion. I own both of these cars and to me the camaro looks just as bad from the back side as the mustang. My buddies call it fat ass. C. Its still going to attract effing the typical douche nerd mustang driver that thinks their car is faster than anything. Yes your typical GT mustang driver is the domestic equivelent of a BMW driver. They think the car makes them cool or something. I take offence to this statement in the respect that I've own a mustang and don't act nothing like you portray. I guess camaro guys are the same way then because I own one of those also. D. It will be a drivers race again. The mustang isnt going to stomp anything. And by anything I mean a SS camaro. This is the first sensible statement you made yet, and I completely agree with that.(If your talking the GT Vs the SS that is. E. Mods...they will probably not be as effective (again) for the mustang motor, as it will be running more efficently from the factory with DOHC. So mod for mod the lsx motor will still be a better performer. From everything you read if you pay attention, the mustang motor is built for mods. There is alot of room to make a lot more power with the 5.0L Oh and by the way, there is no...0...zip, zada difference between a mustang track pack and adding sway bars to a ss. I know some of you dummies will say "that doesnt count, its aftermarket!" The track pack is much more than a sway bar upgrade. You get lower gears, svt front and rear sway bars, gt500 front struts and rear shocks, strut tower brace, larger wheels with pirelli performance tires. a more aggressive ECM tune and svt lower control arms. A swaybar upgrade is a sway bar upgrade is a swaybar upgrade. Quit yer crying. You can always go back to the deserted mustang sites and maybe try to repopulate them. This is just uncalled for. Its funny how many camaro sites came out of nowhere and are sucessful, but mustang sites just sit around and collect interwebz dust. And this is just sticks and stones. |

Blind optimism? LOL. You must feel real confident in the mustang to have to come to a Camaro site and tell everyone how awsome it is. Do you think your going to get GT500 performance from this car for mustang gt price? LOL. Its going to be close.

I spun my 80,000 mile ls1 (a 1998 block too) to 7k dailey. But rpms are not everything. The whole point of the argument was that when you upgraded the ss stock parts to improved parts you get the same results for the same price. |
