Normally soy protein is no where as good a quality of protein as is whey protein. Soy prtein's are also lacking in bcaa's which are needed for the body to utilize the protein. So you can supliment with bcaa's or use a mixture of whey based and soy based protein. Soy protein is also much lower on the gi scale so using it post workout is not very useful. Where as you are adding powdered milk, unless it has been processed out, you are adding bcaa's making the soy somewhat more useable. Using soy protein suplimentad with bcaa's is like using regular gas in comparison to high test.

CFD, would you say the optimum nutrition gold standard 100% whey protein is worth the money? The protein i drink has more protein and about the same calories for less than half the price.

I'm not familiar with that protein powder, let me jump on the web site and "READ THE LABEL" then I will get back with my thoughts

I took a look at the nutritional values and the ingredients as well as price and I would go for the ON hands down. Here is why. Right off as far as cost effectiveness, 1.5 lbs of six star elite is $22.99 on sale that's $15.32 a lb. ON is on sale for $54.99 for 5.15lbs, that's $10.67 a lb.

Below is a comparison of the ingredients.

If you notice the six star has quite a few ingredients that are useless and the usefull ones are way underdosed to do anything, it is higher in cals, carbs and saturated fat

Always read your labels!!

I never actually looked at it that way comparing by the pounds, when i was doing research i hear a lot about the ON. the new six star i was going to get is the isolate. I have this on the way, I guess after I run out I will go with the ON. I am getting 2 two pound jugs for under $20 total (my friend found it on sale and gets a discount) here is the label for this one.
This one does not seem to bad.. your thoughts? you obviously have more knowledge on it than I do. I am new to the protein world. And btw, I really appreciate your advice and tips!

This one is much better, the sodium is a bit high and there are added sugars but not crazy amounts.

A little tip on supliments. Most supliment companies, (Muscle Tech is noted for it) use label decorations. They throw in all kinds of known supliments, such as glutamine. creatine, taurine, the list goes on, many have no scientific studies behind them and the more common ones are sometimes useful but not essential. The other thing is the doseage is no where near the recomended doesages for the supliment, they are used to glamourize their product.

The BEST way to buy supliments is to but the ones with the least ingredients just as when buying processed food products. Buying pure whey protein is best, you are paying for the whey only, you can buy pure creatine or any other suppliments you use and get the proper doseages without paying for "FILLERS" but it's a pain so I try to pick out suppliments that don't have a lot of unecessary ingredients.

Good morning my friends! Hope everyone is doing well, kicking butt and taking names!

Missed a workout last night because I got a headache, so I kept my cal under 1300, and went to bed at 8:30. Feeling rested and ready to take on the world today! Woot!

Stay the heck outta GNC. That place is a total rip off. You can get the ON Whey from Amazon or www.bodybuiliding.com

I'm down to 158.5 as of today, but the dang BF monitor still says 9.0% dangit. I can see my abs pretty good, so I'm thinking I'm a bit below 9% but I want that stupid monitor to show it LOL

This was yesterday's workout:

Mmmmmm, pizaaaaaa. I haven't had any pizza in like a month and I'm jonesing big time.

I gotta find a pizza recipe that gets the pepperonis, cheese, and veggies, but with some kind of low carb thin crust made from eggs or something like that.

We make it at home instead of going out. Sometimes we buy wheat crust at the store sometimes we make our own wheat crust. I make mine with sauce (2 cans tomato sauce, 1 can tomato paste and lots of chopped garlic); onions, mushrooms, black olives, and broccolli, and motzarella and feta. SO GOOD. Its really not that bad for you the way I make it, you just have to go light on the cheese.
