I had to take Whiplash into the dealer yesterday for the first time - my 4 pack gauges were totally dead - no lights or movement AT ALL, I have a bit of a squeaking problem from my front brakes when not applied (does not look sexy to be rolling and all you hear is SQUEEEEAAAAKKKK! - LOL) and my alignment is a bit off. So I dropped her off around noon and my dealer gave me a 2012 2SS VR Vert to drive while she is being fixed up - Victory Red is definitely SASSY! I will say I am not a fan of the new steering wheel - that piece of chrome in the lower portion of the wheel damn near blinded me several times while I was driving when the sun hit it.

I am bummed it is so cold here in AZ right now - we (the kids and I) took the car out last night with the top down - the first little bit they were giddy with excitement - then I looked back and my 12 yr old daughter was almost in tears because she was so cold - LOL!

Anyway - have a great day ladies!
Must be the week for bad gauges, huh??? Go back a few pages if you haven't yet seen the boots I was talking about... I'm hoping Santa Robby was feeling generous!!! (he better be - I got him a snazzy new pair of black Ferragamos....)

Doesn't it figure, furnaces only die when it's cold, and/or a holiday. Ours went out a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve... It was in the teens, and I had a bunch of people coming over. Thankfully, we had space heaters, and the ovens warmed up the kitchen and dining areas from cooking all day.
I've never had the need for my heated seats - Ladybug is a garage queen normally - but now that the SUV keeps dying, I've discovered that the seats get REALLY hot! Nearly burned my buns yesterday!

I saw those boots - they are KICK ASS! I hope you get them! I would break my damn neck in something like that LOL!

Can you drive with those on? I drive the Camaro barefoot - driving it to the dealer yesterday in little flats almost made me crazy - but my toes were cold! LOL. Almost got in an accident in my Cobra with flip-flops where it got stuck under the clutch when I was shifting - so I have been a barefoot driver in my manual cars since then.

I had a good and bad day yesterday, all at once... My SUV overheated again, halfway to downtown Seattle... I managed to get it back to the shop where I just had the radiator replaced 3 days earlier, and someone there was kind enough to take me home so I could take Ladybug to do my errands. I was a NERVOUS WRECK driving her downtown! Cold weather, hills, and P Zeroes do not add up!!! Plus, when I parked, a bum walked by and said "nice ride", then asked me for money. I didn't give him any, then was kicking myself - I should have told him I'd give him $5 when I came back out if he kept an eye on my car!
But all was well, I got all my errands ran (which included FINISHING my Christmas shopping ), and went back to the shop to check on the SUV. Turns out the circuit board on my gauge cluster is bad. So I wasn't REALLY overheated yesterday. So now I'm "forced" to drive Ladybug until that gets fixed. Please pray that I don't find any patches of black ice...

The really good part.... wait for it.... I think I AM getting those boots for Christmas Hubby told me a package was coming, and that I wasn't allowed to look at the return address when I signed for it. I didn't look, but the box is JUST the right size to be a pair of boots.... Hmmmmm.....

Now, time to get ready for work... Hope you ladies all have a great day!!!!
Woot, woot for the done with Christmas shopping and the boots! Though I do drive the Ruby Jewel all winter long I do slap on the 18" Pirelli snow/ice and we go baby go with no problems.

This is totally unfair! The last two times I had to leave Ruby at the dealer I got an Aveo which is a tiny little car they don't even make any more, and it was beat to hell from being a rental, the next time they tried to give me an F-150 which I could not even crawl into because I'm all of about 5'2" on a good day, so they gave me a Ford Focus!!!! I gotta switch dealers!

It is clear up to 19 degrees today, we may all break out the shorts!
Why is it that heaters/air conditioners always pick the exact worse times to blow? Our air cond. went out in August when it was over 100 for the entire week.

Gah on driving in downtown Seattle and double Gah on breaking down while driving in downtown traffic and TRIPLE Gah that it was not actually even "breaking"! What brand of SUV is it? I saw those boots J, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for ya that Santa will want those opened on Xmas Eve!
Wendy I drive my Camaro barefoot too as often as I can get away with it. Those footies with traction dots on the soles work well for driving shoe-less in colder weather. My pickup is a manual too, but given the temps are in the 20s - 30s here I drive in Bearpaws.
It has been clear and sunny here and it's killing me not do drive Trigger. However they have sanded the roads and I just don't want to drive in sandblaster conditions. I pulled out of the shop onto the slab yesterday and did an interior detail, conditioned the leather, vacuumed, wiped down all the trim & dash. Only 4 more months til spring

Its a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero. Its been good to me up until this year, when I rolled over 100k miles. I think auto makers do this on purpose - every vehicle I've ever owned started nickel and diming me to death after 100k... That's partly why Ladybug is a garage queen - I want to keep her forever!

Got Whiplash back. Poor connection at the connector for the gauges. Brake squeak caused by a thickness variation on my rotors - resurfaced, Alignment fixed and there was A/C recall issue that they took care of. My kids were sad to see the VR Vert go back :(

rmpackers - Not sure if my dealership always gives that kind of loaners to everyone - I deal with the fleet department since we purchase a lot of vehicles for our business. This year we have purchased 5 cars from our Chevy dealer - they like us LOL

heRS - I am going to invest in some dotty bottom footies - I drove home in tennis shoes and felt so clumsy with shoes on. Thanks for the tip.
