Sounds like the best plan. Shining them up won't take too long I bet

If you show up looking nice, and act like you aren't just a joyrider. They will let you drive almost anything. A z/28 might request a credit app first depending on how good you are with the dealer.

I've drove too many cars in my life time.

Yup. One thing I've done is walk the lot and look at some other cars and when a sales person comes out and starts talking to you ask about the car you wanted to see. That has always worked for me. I have been fairly lucky with test drives. Most of the cars I've driven have been without the sales person in the car.

taking the sales person is more fun, you can scare the shit out of them, or get the ones who enjoy the thrill. I think the best car I've enjoyed driving was a 2004 Gallardo

The 04 is the crappy one with the super jerky gearbox. I'd take a 2nd gen

It was a fun ride for sure, my test drive of the 2016 Camaro is right up there on top too. Probably due to having an awesome sales person with me as well haha.

Yeah I have had one cool salesman come with me when I drove a 5th gen SS for the third time. Got it up to a speed higher than the limit and all he said was 'I'm taking this car out again later.' Then on the opposite side I had one super craptacular test drive where the guy made me circle the block as the test drive and expect me to make a decision on the car. Tossed him the keys, said thanks and left. He looked so confused haha

My Mom just told me they're putting in a new engine. This sounds fishy to me........ It ran for maybe 15 seconds after I got the "No oil pressure" warning

That's 15 seconds that it ran too long. When you see a low oil pressure light you turn the car off immediately, any waiting after that is just asking for more damage. Did it die by itself at the end of the 15 seconds or did you turn it off?
