Upto now Dodge and Challenger could not buy this type of hype, everyone is talking Challenger Hellcat or RT does not mater.

Will this get people in the dealerships it may will more Challengers be sold? I think so, and in about 2 months we will be talking about the Charger and how it has 707hp this is a one two punch for Dodge.

I think that more Chargers will be sold because of this as well.

GM and Ford will up the HP as well (hope GM does with the Camaro) this is a win win for us car guys.

I would bet the new scat pack options will get Dodges numbers up. Seems you can mix and match and build the car in any number of ways. At the MSRP prices it would seem to be a good time to be Dodge

Just like back in the 70's when you had 4 or 5 engines to choose from, and then 3 or 4 options for those engines.

60k and you know adding some "goodies" like a steering wheel is going to add to the price big time. Still, as a base price, that's pretty good. I had estimated 72k.

Terrified of the 700 hp+ number, I worry GM will go fancy with some kind of twin turbo intercooled monster that is totally unreliable to keep up.

How many did they sell?

6-PAKs...AWESOME!! How many sold?!

Fact is, darn few people are persuaded by all this...darn few. Will some Camaros get traded in? Yup...darn few. Will some nitwit with a GT500 see the sky as falling, and rush down to the Mopar Palace and gobble up a Richard Rawlings-approved TomCat? Yup. Meanest mutha on the street...this week...

90% of buyers won't look at, let alone buy, a Mopar anything...OPINION. So, in the hyper-hysteria of 707 HP!!!! and "runs 10s with a Monkey in the seat!", what will it really matter? Sergio, himself, will STILL wear black sweaters (no upgrade happening there)...and Dearborn Dandies will buy their latest-up-to-datest Mustangs...and the General's privates/corporals/sergeants/etc. will buy what pleases them if/when they can/will...

Game...Set...Match...

707 hp? In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle USMC, "GOLLL-LEEEEE!" Oh, and "Shazam!"

THAT, is your FACTual answer...not just "opinion"...

of the 3,000 they hope to sell, every salivating Challenger forum "intender" will make up the VAST majority of those 3,000 buyers. Some will trickle in from Ford, as will some from GM, and a few from non-domestic brands. JD Power will have the answers, with their Initial Quality surveys and their "I nearly bought..." 2nd Choice customer feedback...

Yes, 707 hp will draw traffic...as did the 638 hp ZR1 (which sold how many?) and the 662 hp GT500. "Haloes" are expected to create that sort of traffic-building...but traffic alone simply means the janitor has a dirtier floor to clean up each night...unless there's something else the customer might (italics) be interested in.

I doubt the hellcat will move it much because the dealers will be marking them up to not allow as many to be sold. I thing the RT with the 392 is the real buy and that may help move the needle a ltitle but very little. I thing no matter what dodge does they will alway be thrid in the fight. Historically, they always have been.

When I went google-eyed and crazy for a muscle car after I 're-discovered' them (long story) I was almost set to get an 87 Buick GN. After research and practical reasons (and I am a hard core Chevy guy) I got a brand new Camaro (black with gray interior, like the GN's).

I looked into a Challenger as well. Add the shaker hood, add etc and man that thing was well over 50k fast!

X 10 for the Hellcat IMO

Still a badass car, love it really. But in the 70k range it's Vette time or GT-R.

I'm not sure I understand the point of that entire post other than most buyers are going to be Dodge fans and they aren't going to sell mass numbers of this Halo Challenger.

Neither of which are remotely mind blowing.

So if someone does the same with a ZL1 and smokes the Hellcat we're equal? I can get a new ZL1 for $51k

Mopar's current sales $ucce$$e$ are based on what, exactly? RAM pickups, and JEEP...NOT their car lines, and NOT the Challenger... 3,000 units, to a company the size of Fiat-Chrysler, is very small potatoes...and if those 3,000 generate another 5,000 units, still a mighty small number. Those combined ANNUAL units are what Mustang and Camaro each sell PER MONTH, roughly...

The car will be a mosquito bite, NOT a shark attack.

Correct analysis...which begs the question, "Why ALL the hysteria?!" Talk about fanboyism...this is CLEARLY THE most extreme case, yet
