Dodge had 5 years to come up with a Mustang-beater and they couldn't even match the outgoing model, talk about "prioritized" performance......ohhhh,it's a nicer car,it has a nicer ride,go put on a dress. That's a wussy argument, ohhhh,a Accord is a nicer car than a SS,it rides better
Keep this to real cars, like the Camaro and Mustang. I know you're not clear on what makes a real car, being the owner of a Impreza, but try to keep up.oops,i didn't mean to be cruelI'll say it again, the Challenger is dead in 2 years,it's the new Mercury Marauder.
My car is a POS. I don't like it, and if I had any choice I would have never been in the driver seat, so that's fair game. There's no love for my Impreza.

What I'm saying is that Ford has been aware of higher performance by the competition for over 2 years. Ford has yet to commit to a new motor for a car that is clearly below the SRT and SS platforms. Instead of going ahead with that amazing 5.0L that they have been preparing, they have build a plethora of appearance packages and special editions that cost more than a Corvette but perform no faster than a Mustang GT with an intake. I'm disappointed that Ford has decided that making great performance a standard is somehow not their style.

Let me point out the the reason Ford disappoints me so much is that I have high expectations of a company with so much heritage. When I think Ford Mustang, I think Cobras ad drag racers and really impressive pony cars. I'm also beginning to think of gimmick cars. There are too many special editions out there. I expect Ford to be as badass as it used to be. You, a Ford fan, have to be disappointed that Ford isn't really keeping up with Chevy like it should. I know it bothers me, and I don't have any real loyalty to the company.

well then check out the Cobra Jet drag car. its a 10 second quarter mile car stock; as for not keeping up, i think people will be suprised.

as for the SRT8 and RT bashing, the manual version of those cars are faster and they do have that awesome look to them. i don't think people should harp on Dodge because they did bring their car to production and retained all the original styling ques

people forget the rt is actually 390 hp from multiple dyno runs and they also forget it is available with a 6 speed.

i have no doubt its going to be a quick car; though it is heavier, it is a bigger car and i think that's part of the appeal. i think a R/T in manual trim will be good enough if you are not really into racing (though still plenty fast). its quick and has that look which the Challenger definetely managed to capture.

Proof? I know the RAM has 390 blah blah but are there any dyno runs? Not to say that I don't believe you, but the marketing sense Chrysler would have charging ten thousand dollars more for a car with 30hp more (SRT-8) is just ridiculous.

yep why do you think dodge says the RT has 370 hp when it has pretty much identical engine to the ram which dodge says has 390 so it can say it has the most hp in its class. Problem is they couldnt do that with the RT because it would be rediculous to show off your top of the line model....and have the 10k lower brother with 30 less hp and 25 less tq.

Also the SRT comes with leather suspension tuning ect ect ect.... plus the added power.

...which I could get for far less than the difference between the R/T and the SRT-8.

I'm dangerously close to buckling and getting the r/t.

How much lighter do you think it's going to be?
It's going to have to get heavier in 2010 for safety regulations isn't it?
