The explosive transmission issue was blown out of proportion when the car first came out. Less than 1% of the cars had any issue at all. The perception was large enough for Nissan to put a softer launch control into the 2010 cars, and completely redesign it for 2011 and newer. The GT-R, while expensive to maintain compared to Corvette and Porsche offerings of the same price, is still one of the most reliable super cars you can get, especially with keeping in mind that you are buying about $250,000 worth of performance for less than $100,000.

Nice GTR! I would've done the same thing. I've always been amazed by the GTR, especially the '13, which can run mid-10s to low-11s bone stock, and has a 0-60 of 2.7 seconds.
