Similar laws in VA. If you are pulled for doing 20+ over you can be arrested on the spot. 11+ over the limit is a reckless ticket.

The amount you have to pay up front is usually not that big of a deal.
What it does to your insurance on the other hand...lets just say you end up paying a lot more usually than the cost of the ticket over time... Sounds like you got the best outcome that could have been hoped for. |

You deserve what you get. There is no reason to have that many points in a year. Driving is a privilege not a right. You are the reason why us guys have higher insurance rates. Whatever happens to you, happens.

I don't know about there but here guilty verdict of reckless driving is automatic doubling of your insurance for the next 3 years. The only thing worse is passing a stopped school bus which triples your insurance. Also the school can only be used once every few years (I think it's five years here in NC) and if you get caught doing ANY moving violation during this time you have to pay the fine for both violations and you get the points of both violations. |

So in NC you dont have to pay the fine for the initial violation if you go to school because you said have to pay for both and never heard of having to pay for a violation twice 4 years apart.

People like you always end up meeting someone like me, when we cut you out of the car. 21 soon, great now you can have a few beers before you kill someone.

Never admit to what they officer says. Just reply with "No sir, I don't know how fast I was going." I also find talking respectful and treating them normal is helpful. They're doing a tough job, and attitude won't help at all...just makes it worse.

Deferred....get any tickets at all in those 90 days and this ticket rears it's ugly head at you.
Now let's see what happens to your insurance rates. Don't tell your insurance you got a ticket...they'll find it soon enough in the next 6mo to 1yr.
