It's not obsolete, have you actually owned one? I own both; they are both great cars and my TA is far from obsolete.

Yes, you are a new branch on the tree of life; you used the word "there"(twice) and "parents" rather than the correct, adult words: "their" and "parent's", and let's not forget leaving out the two words: "and I" preceded by a comma between "old" and "just", as well as the unneeded comma after "see" and the one after "camaro" (left uncapitalized). Oh, I almost forgot, the leading word of the sentence is also uncapitalized.

I love the naïveté of it all. Thanks, kid. It makes getting older more worthwhile. By the way, spelling and grammar are best left up to the Spelling & Grammar Nazis; they're the experts. I am just a pain-in-the-ass smartypants, ask anyone.

You sir win ten thousand internets. Bravo. <insert clapping picture here>

There's a lot more to life than a fancy car. That "fancy piece of paper" going on my wall makes sure that I don't simply have ONE nice thing. Dump all my money into a Camaro... or go to school so I can use my spare money to dump into one, and have a nice home, job security, health care, etc and support myself 100%.

Tough choice...

Ooh, you are soo right. Life's more fun when you have educated your wits, tastes, desires, and willingness to try new things. Sadly, if one doesn't open these avenues of intellect one never knows, nor enjoys, that which one is missing.

Ignorance may be bliss, but I'd rather know the difference.

hold up now, just because one doesn't go to college, doesn't mean they aren't "educated"... i'm currently in my 3rd year(of 5) of the NJATC Electrical Apprenticeship program, and when I top out... i'll GLADLY go head-to-head with someone who spent 4 years in College learning about Electricity(our 5th year is learning PLCs and Instrumentation, which would be about 4 more college courses on their degree)... not only will I have 5 years of book knowledge, will have over 8000 hours of on the job training...

I'd be a fool to go to college to become an electrician when a BETTER opportunity is available to me... and when you learn a trade like i'm doing, you don't rely on one job, you have a craft for life... because electricity isn't going anywhere, any time soon, lol

I choose to be Union and its a life I love, however, at the end of a day, I will be a state licensed electrician, not just a "Union Electrician"

Amen brother. I finished my Electrical ticket in April and I love it. Our program sounds similar but 4 years instead. Being 22 and making $36/hr is pretty legit! Plus if work slows down you just travel elsewhere. If there's no construction nearby there will be within a few hours. PLCs were fun, but most programs are only a few weeks long. You'll have to get a job involving them in order to get a more broad spectrum of training with them.

^ plan on it, if all goes as planned while I'll still have my ticket, I won't be working construction, have an In at an annual job at a Nuke plant... cards still have to fall my way but its looking pretty good, brother has been annual there for about 4 years now so i'll have him putting in a word for me as well...

nothing wrong with working construction and I honestly may travel a year or two just to see a little of the country until I start pursuing that job... but of course, if they started a major hiring wave about the time I turned out, i'd skip the road, lol

I'm curious about how that $36/hr works out. Is that $36/hr per 160 hours in a full month of four 40 hour weeks? And do these full months continue the entire year?

That's why I gave up on the 5th gen, bought an insanely low mile 4th gen AFTER I got my "fancy piece of paper" and resolved to never look at that piece of paper until I had job security, HC, and other things to support myself and my F Body addiction.

To all you kids with SS cars or LT cars who don't pay a dime on insurance or the payment: Enjoy the real world when that 400/mo insurance bill comes calling or that 600/mo car payment bill comes and threatens a repo.

To those that actually pay out of pocket each month for their cars: Bravo. To those I mentioned in the above blurb..

WGAFF?

What does it mean to be educated? Does learning a trade or a skill make you educated? If that's so I was educated at 17 before I graduated high school and was a certified auto body repairman.

LEARNING does not make you educated. Taking what you learn, knowing how to apply it, expanding your mind, and continuing to learn new things... that's more along the lines of an education. I've met many people with High School Diplomas on to Doctorates who were brilliant at their job, and their field, but FAR from educated.

To me, education is more about wisdom, life experience, and the desire to never stop learning. It's less of a certificate or degree and more of a philosophy. My education has been on going for twenty four years and will not stop until my heart does. The day I stop learning something new is the day I should die.

I applaud, and to a certain degree, envy those of you making a solid income at a young age. The economy is terrible and jobs are had to find. But we all have our own paths to achieve our own goals. My goals don't involve instant gratification, but rather prolonging it; and being satisfied when I wake up and when I go to sleep with everything, not one thing, in my life around me. Some sacrifices are meant to be made, but not at the expense of your happiness or your potential.

Disclaimer (since translation can be lost in writing): I am not trying to provoke, offend or insult; quite the opposite, I'm trying to tickle the mind, prod at curiosity and ask questions.

@Ivas, nice little saying... I would rather know the difference as well.
