Yeah, we need more of these great ideas like "corn ethanol"!!! Even Algore has said he was mistaken for supporting this boondoggle. It pollutes more than fossil fuel and costs more too! It also makes my snowthrower run like crap and getting gas with no ethanol percentage added where I lives is $0.50 more per gallon. Oh yeah... my taxes are paying for all that corn ethanol subsidies and people are going without food because the corn is used up.

Also, drilling in remote areas solves nothing in the long term. It might help prices for a few years, but it is very short-sighted. We can harm areas that may be the only true remaining wilderness areas and in a few years, we're right back where we started - looking for more. We need other sources of energy that are renewable.

You were aware that about 3% of the land in the US has been developed. I certainly don't think we need to worry about running out of wilderness anytime soon.

Besides, there are areas like ANWR which (in reality, not the make-believe-media) are nearly as inhospitable as the surface of Mars and likely the drilling will actually improve the area.

I know not everyone feels this way. If there was an easy solution, we would have already found it and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

The reason there's no "solution" is that much of the "problem" is fabricated by various special interest groups. You cannot solve a problem that doesn't exist. If you come up with a solution, the creators of the problem will simply adjust their problem to avoid your solution and the largely servile media will parrot their script.

In the meantime, if you think gas prices are high in the US, go buy gas in Canada or Europe. It's a LOT more expensive there. We've had cheap gas for many many years and are a bit spoiled by it.

There's a reason the prices are high in those places, so WHY would we want to replicate their mistakes here?

Roughly 0.117% of the greenhouse effect is due to atmospheric CO2 from human activity. The majority of the greenhouse effect is from natural water vapor. I can't imagine how continuing to burn fossil fuel will have anything other than an insignificant effect on the environment as we could continue at this rate until the supply runs out and have not changed the contribution in any noticeable way.

I do understand that the price of gas affects many people- I just think its a little funny hearing it from people who bought a 400+ HP muscle car.

Thanks. I am remaining politically neutral because nearly all of those running this show are at least partially at fault. We have erected a system where small groups can influence the decision making process and really gum up the works.

ya thats is very true... but at one point when gas is like 5.00 a gallon, then even us muscle car guys get mad. i don't mind paying 3.50 a gallon but 5 a gallon is allot.and i hear thats what is headed for us in 2012

We all have different needs. The $10,000+ (guess) you spent on 650hp would supply all the gas a 426hp guy would need for nearly 4 years at $50/week.

You may not care about gas prices, but remember how gas guzzlers got hammered for low resale when gas hit $4-4.50 a gallon. $4 gas will cost you thousands in resale. $5 gas will wipe out half your value in the ensuing panic, and Chevy will drop the Camaro from the line up, further weakening resale value. V6 guys are not immune with practically the same city mileage and just 4 or 5 mpg more on hwy.

we must start drilling before its too late, why cant we drill and invest in fuel efficient cars? i just dont get it
