exactly although i think with good parenting, kids can start to ease into dating at around 16. i mean, its my parents rule that no girlfriend over when they arent home, no going into bedrooms at anytime, no laying down on the couch... things like that which seem harsh but have really payed dividends for me

There were girls on the cross country team and orchestra that hung out. High school and college are very different. Only a few people transcend the superficial desire for popularity. The priority reason for most people to date in high school is to get attention from other people or to put notches in your belt, or to say, "I dated [the hottest girl in school; the prom queen; a football player; a cheerleader; someone important]." When you go to college, that goes away. You'll have an unrestricted good time for the first two years, and you'll get serious the second two years if you managed to stay in school.

There are things I would've changed, but I'm happy with the outcome. I met my girl in college, and we're getting married in March.
