225-195-258 Opened the tenth frame of game one and joked: "If that if that whiffed 10-pin costs me a 700, then I'll be pissed..." Consider me pissed - sort of. Lost carry in game two and a pocket 7-10 kept me out of the 200s. Kept moving left as the shot broke down and ultimately went to a weaker ball. Had the front 7 in game three only to end the string with a ringing ten. Drilled the hole in the 9th, but got screwed by another ringing 10 in the 10th even after adjusting in an attempt to avoid it. We were facing a team with a 246 pin handicap advantage and we smoked-'em. Made some money in the pot game and survivor board so I can't really complain. I am getting worried about my back though. I tweaked it two weeks ago while bowling, aggravated it last week with 4 hrs of shoveling snow, and felt a hard twinge in the fourth frame of game three. By the end of the night the pain was wrapping around my rib cage. Can't wait until tomorrow...

724 tonight. Won $33 in the side pot for 2nd game...would have won 3rd game and total but a guy on the pair next to me had a good night and shot 256/730. It would have been awesome to have taken home $99 tonight. Avg. now 225. It was a good night.

I had the opposite happen at the beginning of the night - ringing tens. Of course I "solved" that issue by not hitting the pocket much during the rest of the night. 175-204-209. First non-600 in a month-and-a-half. To make matters worse, we lost the first game by 10 pins and third game by three in a series sweep. Crap.

^^Haha! Same here! Shot 594 (219, 205, 170) I was just so lost the whole night. Wasnt comfortable at all. Missed a couple stupid spares. Going through the process of buying another house so I think I was distracted by that. Hopefully next week things are back to normal.

I forgot to mention why I quoted CamaroKid's post: a guy on the opposing team had a 16-strike string and I swear he only hit the pocket half of the time. One time he left maybe five pins on the deck! Sometimes they just fall like that, but given my woes, it was definitely frustrating to watch...

So, I keep going in and out of bowling. been a year or so since the last time I bowled, but have bowled a lot when I was younger. Broke 200 my first time when I was about 14 or 15. I don't really take it seriously, but would like to get better. My average right now is about 140-160. I have a fingertip ball that was made for my hand, and it's been ok. It doesn't seem to hook as much as i'd like. i'm pretty consistant at where I throw the ball, but when I try to adjust, everything goes to hell. lol So, I was wondering if I should try to get a different ball, or maybe put a balance hole, to create more hook? Also, my ball might be a tad too heavy at 15 or 16lbs, so the hole would help in that regard as well. lol Also, how do I know how big to make this hole? would the shop know?

My first job was at a bowling alley and I was able to bowl anytime I wanted for free. At 12 years old I was averaging 190, the highest average in my age group. Fast forward 40 years.....2 years ago I was averaging 219 in our church league but our team decided to move to a more competitive league at a different bowling alley. We are now 2/3's through this season and my average is a 171!!!

I bought 2 new balls this season in an attempt to get back to "normal" but neither ball did any good. This particular house has a standard down and in shot right over the 2nd arrow and this is the ONLY line that is good and EVERY single bowler throws this line except for me. I am a cranker and throw the ball around 22MPH and no matter what I do I can't keep the ball from going high or crossing over. I have been forced to throw my plastic spare ball to try to keep on the right side of the head pin but this sucks because I leave 8-10's, 5-10's, 5 pins...miserable.

I had a bowling layoff for 7 years like 20 years ago, I have already told the team I won't be coming back. I hate every minute that I am there and quite honestly I am totally embarrassed w/ a 171 average!!

I have 13 different balls that I will probably put up for sale after the season. I have some good balls; Hammer Hot Sauce, Cell, Lev-RG, etc.

I give up....
