That would be an amazing thing. It does feel good to be back where I was previously. Hopefully I can't stay healthy and give it a hell of a shot. What suit would you recommend?

Well understand of course the gear ain't gonna just lift the weight for you. It's going to take time getting use to it, getting your form dialed in, dealing with pain, learning to explode at the bottom of the lift vs letting the gear do it for you, etc.....

When I competed years ago I just wore a single ply titan suit with no briefs....it's what I made the 600 in....and I would suggest you start in something like this....a single ply suit...I'd actually suggest you buy a pair of briefs first and get use to that....then a suit....then a suit then briefs. There's different levels of "gear" and you have to get use to each level before you can fully take advantage of the benefits. Kind of like drag racing....if you start with a 12 sec car you will get use to it and be fine....then it goes to 10's and takes some time....9's...8's...etc....Chances are if you went from a 12 second car to a top fuel car with nothing in between you'd crash and burn....same thing with PL gear.

Year's later I tried an Inzer Leviathan suit and this would be the suit to have when you get use to gear.

I feel it's the best for me though I need a new one and haven't squatted in one in 5 or 6 years. I would box squat in training and ONLY free squat at a meet. The Leviathan gives you the stopping power like sitting on a box. It's also a great suit for a wide stance squatter.

For briefs I'd start with some Metal pro briefs.

Then later on I'd get the Metal jacked briefs. I just bought some of these a few months ago and they are easily the best briefs I've ever owned. I don't squat in a suit anymore... only these....But they tough....

Combine a springy pair of briefs like these with the stopping power of the Leviathan and it's a great recipe...

Like with Monique....started her totally raw....past few months she's been wearing my old metal briefs which naturally are too big but they still give her some added support....this past week we added some gangster knee wraps....she took her first free squat in a while and really wasn't prepared for how it felt....but here's a video...at the end you hear her remark "yeah I know"...she knew I was going to tell her it was high....she will keep working...still f'n awesome considering less than 2 years of weight training....and she is finding out she loves gear! I've almost got her convinced she can break Nance Avigliano's record in a few years....Next time Elite runs the metal gear on sale I will let you know if you want to order some briefs...we will be getting Monique some that fit....typically 30-35% off.....
