you sound like hugger saying that modular 5.0 cant take more than 425rwhp. because of a "source". sheesh.
Dude, get it right....I said a modular 4.6 can't take it. If you want it right from the source ( dyno operator & tuner ) call Mike @ Straightline Performance ( 815 ) 485-7741 and ask him what he limits his RWHP tunes to for those engines and why. Oh yeah, ask him how many 4.6 have put rods through the block while you have him on the line.

No need to delete it, I just wanted to clarify what I had said earlier. I would hope by now you've figured out I know a little bit about cars and try not to make assine statements that don't have some merit to them.

In addition to that, I did provide my source!

looks to me like IRS domination if ive EVER seen it!!!!!!!!!!!! apples to apples. not a better suspension in one than the other.

the results are like this race after race. i think the camaro did do well toeard the end of the season.

Which appears related to frequent high RPM situations. i.e. racing. Also be aware of modifications to the motor, the 5.0 does not like mods from stock. Seems this engine went from paper to design to a finished product in less than a year. Did Ford cut corners? Don't know. Most Ford guys are sticking with Ford Modular engine for very high HP.

Damn....I guess all us 5.0 owners need to sell the shit off and go drive Kia's.

That is the most unsubstantiated piece of information I have seen posted about the new 5.0. It is garbage. I know of 2 untouched/modified motors that have gone.

1. Injector stuck open.
2. M6 owner who downshifted from 3rd to 2nd at a high RPM.

I know of 2 modified motors that have let go.

1. 275 shot of nitrous.
2. Supercharged motor where an idiot was street racing on pump gas with a race gas tune.

I would hardly call that a pandemic. I have seen/heard of more LS3 motors going away due to bad oil pumps.

Get your facts straight.

5.0 Mustang

I was at the muffler shop today getting rid of the stock resonators and got to see a new 5.0, m6 Mustang and talk to the owner. The car is nice in person, very sleek but does have a few things I personally don't care for and has been mentioned on the forum here. The outside looks good and better then the previous version but the rear end doesn't work for me and the tires look way to small but not sure how big of a wheel/tire you could fit in there. On the inside the plastic has a rougher appearing, larger pattered look to it and so do the leather seats, but other then that pretty nice.
The car was silver with silver wheels and that combo looked more like a rental car, the owner agreed and wished for a different color but for 31k not a bad deal at all! He also said he wished he had gotten the A6 and not the M6 as the A6 has been beating him at the track, he has a hard time getting the car to hook up and he didn't sound like a novice either. As to power he dyno'ed stock and got 363 rwhp. He added a dynomax axel back, modded the airbox and deleted all cats and got 404, but today put the cats back as the car was way to loud and added a 3" x pipe mid section to the car.Odd thing here is he said the stock exhaust was 2-7/8" after the cats but narrowed to about 2-1/4" then back up to 2-7/8"
Very odd.

the car sounded good at idle, not loud, and fantastic when revving it up Oh yes, the car comes stock with shorty headers also so his system is done.

One last note we talked about the group here and how we all help each other out and love the car, he liked that and he said, and his opinion of course, not only do alot of Mustang people hate Camaro's and Chally's but worse they hate each other more! Always out to get each other or race all the time but I guess not in a good way, been seeing that since the 80's

man, i like you. you kill me. if i behaved in here the way you behave in mustang forums, admin would have sent me packing a long time ago.

I get along in the GM forums because number one, i own gm products and love them more than Ford, and number two i respect the money and time spent on The cars people in these forums love. number three, I dont parade around like a nutswinger. i do speak of the virtues of the vehicles i prefer. Cadillac, jeep, and some fords. The 2011 GT was my last ford purchase. I have better things to spend my money and time on.

And lastly....if my woman, who by the way is a camaro fan, wanted a gen5 i would get one for her. She would look smoking hot driving it.

Probably. They're a bit of a stuffy bunch here. That's not to say that your cats on the S197 forum aren't exactly walking around without a bit of a stick up their ass their either. But I think that's mostly just the Ford Fanatic Fanboy club there. FFF for short.

I realize that you don't parade around a like a nutswinger, either. I've said it there, and I'll say it here. I love cars. Doesn't matter the make/model, or what have you. But like, you, I just prefer the car I prefer. If it were on performance alone, I would have bought a 2011 GT. But I like the aesthetics more on the C5 SS. I don't mind having a slower car for the looks I like. I mean, I have to look at it everytime I drive it, right? But I'm not always trying to race it. Can't have your cake and eat it all the time. I'm on the S197 forum because I like the car, respect it, and want to learn a bit more about it, especially the new 5.0.

Anyways, don't take anything I say personally, like some of your compadres do. I just call it like I see it most of the time. I don't have anything against anyone, really. And I wish I had better things to spend my money on. I still haven't grown up past my mid-20's, hobby-wise, regrettably.

Anyways, thanks for not correcting the fact that I didn't spell "hear" correctly in my last post.

I should not be posting here and I have told myself I need to stop however when I see blatant bullshit posted, I will comment about it.

You are right, I should check out and call it done...nothing more to prove.
