Computer is in. Now cox can't get a signal to my modem. This sucks. They want to charge me $30 to come out to my house. But I already know there's nothing wrong with my install. It's not that hard. Plug modem power, plug coax cable from wall to modem, connect Ethernet cable to modem and pc.

Ok, I'm not the most computer suave guy out there, but what does it mean when I connect a router up to the computer (wired) and bypass the modem? because that's what i just did, and I'm typing on my new wireless keyboard and staring at my 55" plasma tv.

i think cox is trying to screw me over on some install charge.

Anyway, this just confirms my install is just fine. Cox also said they were able to see my modem, but couldn't get a signal. This router will do for no, but i remember having issues with it cutting off once in a while...
