I find the fighting entertaining and often irrational. I'm really don't get the inner brand hating. Like GT guys hating my Cobra. It's a viscious cycle that will always continue.

Most mustang owners give me grief on the road. I'd say on average 40% of them have done 1 of the following to me on the road:

-Rev their engine at a redlight
-Pull up next to me on the freeway and lurch forward using a lower gear like they want to take off (repeating).
-Roll down their window then turn up their music real real real loud (my windows are open).
-Roll slowly through a stopsign intersection forcing me to wait/watch as they roll by.
-The best - (04ish Black convertible GT - you know who you are!) takes off past me leaving me behind after the girl in the passenger notices my car and smiles.

That's just some of the mustang owners. The GT500 owners are much more cool. Yesterday a black '10 GT500 vert was following/chasing me through morning freeway traffic on the way to work and when I pulled off the freeway he passed, honked and gave me a thumbs up. Appearntly we had mutual respect for each other's machines and had somewhere to be.

About 2 days after I got my car an older GT500 peels out at some lights then when we get to the next ones he rolled down his windows to hear me peel out. He stayed back and gave me the devil horns as I left. Pretty cool.

As an owner of both I've never had an animosity towards any specific make/model. I appreciated the car, and then by extent the owner/driver. If the latter was an idiot then I felt bad for the car.

I show respect to any car (more to american muscle than an import though), and rev it to anyone that passes or is passed.

Well it makes sense Mustang guys hate on Camaro guys more than Camro guys hate on Mustang guys, i mean how would you feel if you pioneered something and spent a few years perfecting it then all of a sudden someone else comes along with their own version of it thats even better? I mean thats the nature of America, competition, and really its not something you should get all pouty over its something you should embrace and let challenge you to be better. Personally i dont think its strictly "mustang and camaro" guys though its more "chevy vs. ford" guys, and unfortunatly i must agree that ford guys make a much bigger deal over it than chevy guys...although if anyone has ever been to challengertalk.com i did catch a lot of flak from there even supporting both Challenger and Camaro, was rather disappointing but meh...

Personally, and i dont mean any disrespect with this, but i think a lot of it lies in how the Camaro, or especially the Trans Am has almost always been a step ahead of the Mustang performance-wise while the Mustang has focused more on mixing comfort and performance. The problem comes where people are unwilling to accept that yeah one car may be focused more on performance while the other is focused on both performance and comforts and then argument ensues. Dont get me wrong though im a neutral party here, in fact ive been debating for months over whether my next purchase will be a 98-02 T/A or an 05-09 Mustang GT haha, so far its just way wayy too close to call =/

Quite a few were about my age, 25. The 2 cool GT500 drivers seemed to be in their early 30s. The guy that took off to save his girl was about early 40 late 30 as was the girl. I don't get offended since this is my 1st muscle car so I'm new to the club. In my G6 GT I was batting little Fast n Furious civics around but now the big fish are eyeing me. Feels pretty cool. Its all fun until someone actually touches my car then I have to go after someone Doubt it will happen due to my parking conditions but w/e

Or like the SS guys that hate on the talk of a new Z/28 just cause if a Z/28 comes out now all of a sudden they're no longer on top, its just completely retarted...i guess they dont realize that even if a Z/28 didnt come out, there will still be a 2011 SS model and all of a sudden *gasp* they're not the big cheese anymore!...better throw a fit...
xD

This is probably more so the fact that the SS model has always (or at least to my knowledge... not too familiar with gen 2/3) been the top performance model, above the z/28. Now the z/28 is rumored to come out and be among the top competition in high performance muscle.

well.... lets face it, cars like ours get people wanting to drive aggressively. im 19 and it takes every singe ounce of will i have to not play with every camaro/370z/g37 i see on the road. some guys are just nicer than others when it comes to "playing".

Someone didn't read the Z/28 section.

I am a long time Mustang owner, and Just traded in my 03 Mach 1 Mustang for a SS today. I can not wait to get my Camaro in. As someone coming over from the dark side; Sorry Ford, Chevy got this one right.

jeeeeeebus............

The fact that there is even a thread devoted to this topic is both juvenile and antiquated.

Grow up! There are way more important things in this world to be concerned about.

Both Mustang AND Camaro owners!
