2023 is not the last model year. Probably 2025 from what I’m seeing.
Hope it at least goes to 2025. As an auto enthusiast who feels the end of the cars I like are in sight I’ll be grateful for every year of production for all the awesome ice cars I like. I know a lot of people would like a new platform (myself included) but let’s be real, the majority of people who have 40-50k to spend on a weekend toy could care less about the platform age. People just want a car that looks good and has decent acceleration. When the 6th Gen came out, its performance was ahead of the time. Finally other cars in the price range have caught up.

What i found curious was Camaro is the only one on that list that has both hard build out date and final DOSP,and no start up date or TBD. The plot thickens..

Might not be a GM document, but just a tracking document for someone trying to keep track. Notice that Silverado EV, Blazer EV, and Equinox EV are not on the list. The fact that Bolt EV is on the list provides guidance that the list is not specific to ICE models only.

What exactly would the financial, or contractual incentives be for GM to keep producing the current 6th Camaro until 2025?

It cant be strong.

I don't think it will be the last ICE for trucks. Ram CEO said no end date for ICE for their trucks and Ford seems to be following suit. GM does not want to lose customers so they will probably be forced to have ICE for trucks unless they want to lose sales.

True. But the disincentives are also not strong. I think it all comes down to the plant. GM has recently invested a lot of money into LGR. Most likely to convert the plant to produce EV. Until it’s converted GM can close the plant or keep the plant building CT4, CT5, and Camaro. Camaro is the highest volume of the three, so it will likely stay in production until GM gets to the plant conversion.

Here's my two-cents:

I believe the hold over to be true. I was told that production is done with MY23 and EOP would be Jan-Mar of 24, depending on part buildout. LGR will continue to build the CT4 and CT5. Then in late 2025, an EV is coming to LGR, but that one is still under wraps. The company I work for supplies LGR with major interior and exterior components, so my source is creditable. However, I received this info at the end of November '22, so it could be wrong now

To me that sounds like the most plausible scenario.Given the perpetual constraints, it may take them 15 months to build all the orders pending.

Given the reality of current GHG/ZEV mandates, the Camaro's discontinuation is imminent.
I would honestly buy a 2023 while you can because I am sure the availability would be better than 2024.
