![]() build the whole frame from titanium.... maybe. the thing with diesels to remember is that they make most of their power down low (<3500rpms) and arent designed to run high rpms where most gasoline motors make the most power (>3500rpms). while it might have buttloads of torque to pull most anything, it will probably not do well on the top end. Usually the diesel vehicles are geared accordingly. I've only owned one diesel with 4:10 gears which was way overgeared for the torque of the diesel. The rest of them have has 3:50 or 3:73 gears with a 5spd which has worked very well. A half ton truck could use the same gears that the gas motor trucks use easily. Especially if the 4.5L runs anything like the 6.6L Duramax. The RPM range is only about 2000 rpms under the gas engines. With another higher gear in the trans the upper MPH's could be reached.
