Who's emulating who?

The current Malibu was released in late 2007. It was the first to incorporate Chevy's dual-port grille.

The Mazda 3 was unveiled in late 2008. It was the first to incorporate Mazda's new front fascia design.

pretty much what I'm saying is bring back meaning to the SS badge like the cobalt did.
You're talking about two seconds lol

Probably the turbo upgrade kit from GM is all it would need to find two seconds to make up.

Actually, Fenwick, I referred to the now-ancient latest redo of the Impala, with its more rectangular dual element front facia, as preferential in my opinion to the collagen-implanted lower-lip openings that have followed. A straighter lower line would give these "smaller" cars a "wider" look. After all, "bigger/wider" is always "better"...especially in small cars...

As to the "chicken or egg" theory, there are NO "secrets" in automotive styling circles...are there?

Whoever designed the Mazda spent too much time admiring Heath Ledger/Jack Nicholson and "The Joker" from "Batman" fame...

Beyond this minor disagreement (the first, I'm sure, we've ever had...), the Cruze is a giant step forward...with aggressive pricing to match. Let's hope the Marketplace agrees...

I believe the average purchase price for a Civic is 19k, or something like that. Cobalt is actually not far behind that, and the Cruze offers much more for that money. It should do very well.

SEMA annouced an upcoming "measuring session" for aftermarket suppliers for the Cruze and Silverado HD, in Sterling Heights June 14th.

Let's see what comes to market, by intro time, from these sessions...
