I fall into that catagory of never using a drop of gasoline too. That looks to be a great study. Now, if GM can only get enough of these made, enough made at the right price, and get them out in dealer parking lots before other manufacturers get theirs out. Holy crap, will GM be making a huge hit. The faster, the better. GET THAT VOLT OUT!!!

I have a long commute, like 64 miles. Ideally the Volt would give me around60 percent better mileage than my Cavalier, which gets about 32 mpg. That would be phenomonal!

I'm moving to within 10 miles of work so I can enjoy my Camaro guilt and worry free.

What an AWSOME thread.
Man, this site can really get away from you. I was travelling last week and didn't have time to stay caught up. I'm WAY behind. I'm In as far as the Volt is concerned. If I drive my Camaro the way I think I will, I'll need the Volt to offset the cost of operating my Camaro. By 2011 there will be two new Chevy's in my drive way. Hopefully one will be at least flex fuel, and the other will be a Volt. I'm curious how expensive the Volt will be. Probably comparable to the existing hybrids?

At least it's being made and isn't a "concept" only. Glad to hear it's going to be released. I bet EVERY SINGLE ONE will be sold immediately...and the buying public will want more. Give it some time...it'll be done right and will eventually pick up in production. This is going to be a huge hit for GM.
Still...good news IMO. |

What the hell is a proper powered gas car?

A proper powered gas car is one that has a 2L DOHC engine, makes 150 hp and 100 ft-lbs of torque and costs a fair amount of money to fix. Either that or its a car with at least a 5L engine with 10 or more cylinders where the price of the car determines how good it is. It will have every little techno toy, get awful mileage and spend almost as much time in the shop as on the street. Im sure that hes thinking of one of those two.
I was going to go into a big domestic vs import thing, but I'll save that for another time
