If Cadillac and Camaro share the same platform, then you just may be looking it a 2016 Camaro, with some subtle changes to front and rear end.

The days of swaping fascias & calling them different cars are essentially over at GM (main exceptions are cars that aren't sold in the same region, like Buicks & Opels)

Don't think of a platform as a physical thing like a frame or unibody. Think of it as a set of parameters. What can the wheelbase & track width be, what engines can it accept, what potential drive configurations are there (FWD, FWD+AWD, RWD, RWD+AWD, AWD only), where does the suspension mount up, why types of suspension can it use, what is the mass range that it can handle, how many seats, where are the main structural elements, where are the crumple zones, and on and on and on. Its those 'hidden' parameters that are going to be common (or at least fairly common) between cars that share a platform. But nearly everything that you can see or touch can & usually will be different.

Now that will be nice to see and hear.

DGthe3 speaks the truth here. Why would you even think to compare this and the hellcat?

I guess if so one minded that the only thing you care about is pure HP and straight line speed.....then sure. But that's pretty ignorant.

Hellcat is a unique animal. Too heavy, reasonable but not great track performance and too little tire to really put that power to the pavement. It's a number king and that's about it IMO.

CTS-V will be competing with M5s and AMGs. Even these competitors aren't concerned about the Hellcat because they understand that none and I mean very nearly zero of the folks buying M5s and AMGs are cros shopping the Hellcat anymore than ZL1s or GT500s.

And I am very much looking forward to seeing what an LT4 powered CTS-V does, but I am pretty sure it will destroy a Hellcat everywhere but the 1/4 mile and even then they should be close.

It grew on me too. The only angle I can't warm up to is the side. Front and rear is absolutely beautiful. So is this the platform and engine that the next Camaro model is going to get?

Platform? Yes. Engine? Maybe, but highly unlikely. I would expect the LT1 V8 instead

That was great! I'm guessing that was not your average camera truck shooting this scene...

I never said that...I just stated the obvious... However, just because a person likes HP and straight line performance does not make them ignorant. However, looking at the fact you own a v6 not a v8 camaro shows you are more into economy then performance so your statement seems off base.

Hellcat challenger you are correct but the hellcat charger is making a number of people i know in the silicon valley rethink what they are getting next.

I would suggest that those are the very few buyers BMW and MB aren't worried about. If you would jump from an AMG to a Charger or Challenger simply for a HP number I don't think you will see much concern or worry from the Germans. They compete on a much broader scale than a simple HP number.

That is really all the Fiats bring to the table. Very nice cars with really nice interiors and a big HP number, but that's about it. JMO

ohhhhhh, I support you getting a GT350. I'd like to see it at the track in person before I take the plunge. But shhhhhh we must not speak of this here

lol

Your right...I'm just a dumb V6 owner. What would I know about any of that?

ummm....actually I'm still going with the fact that you compared this and Hellcat as being more off base. yeah...I'll go with that.

Don't you see it? Everyone cross shops Dodge Charger and Cadillac ATS. I can't decide if I want a Dart or a Corvette.
