Corvette museum to display cars eaten by sinkhole

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Curious to see the damage that a huge sinkhole inflicted on eight classic cars at the National Corvette Museum?

The Kentucky attraction plans to give visitors a close look.

The cars will go on display before they're taken to Michigan for repairs. Museum spokeswoman Katie Frassinelli said the museum has heard from people wanting to see the damage.

The vehicles were consumed when the earth gave way Feb. 12 beneath a display area in the museum's Sky Dome before the tourist attraction opened for the day. No injuries were reported, and the Corvette plant about a half mile from the museum was not affected.

Work to retrieve the cars nearest the surface could start in a couple of weeks, Frassinelli said.

The museum plans to display the damaged cars from April through July...

I went back and viewed the drone cam video to refresh myself on the position of them. I would say the black one is next.

I think that was expected. I can't see the video but wasn't the Blue devil standing on it's nose for a couple weeks?

From this early drone video, looks like it was sitting flat then.

Here is the video of the recovery. Much better view than the live feed.

It left a nice puddle of oil and a trail as he drove it out. I wouldn't have let it run that long and would have been looking under the car for just that any leaks.
