^so true and so sad that alot of these high performance cars are stuffed into a garage or only driven if the sun is out on the 3rd week of a leap year etc...
I guess people just want to say they have one and stare at it... lol |

The amazing thing that GM did a long time ago, was to actually commit to a true American , low riding, two seat sports car, the Corvette.
Ford tried and went too far with the Ford GT which was an exotic, and it died quickly. Otherwise Ford is always half assing it with their"performance category. Because of Chevy's heavy commitment to the Corvette and it's racing activities, all this great and amazing high performance technology has trickled into GM's street cars with top end aerodynamics, suspension and chassis performance, brakes. Fords engines have been revolutionary, but otherwise they have not committed to these other categories in the ahead of the game way that GM has for it's high performance street cars. If you look at the new Z06 (Z07 package plus magnetic adjustable shocks) track times, it's just ridiculous how well that car takes on a track and is still able to be a daily driver. Erik

I mean his daytona coupe was actually faster than the gt40 but ford just kind of bought him out. that is a true amazing story right there his small team dominated the world for a year. Even in nascar if it was for names like roush, yates, hendrick, etc factory suport is not where is should be IMO. the awesome thing about the ZL-1, boss 302, corvette, 2013gt500 is they are doing actuall at the track deveopement again and taking feedback from pro drivers. It is win win for the consumer.

Too funny, now people gripe about the GT500 because it may cost a measly $2k more to run down the ZL1 in roads with turns. $2k is nothing to people who buy these cars. The ZL1 doesnt come with 650hp option or and 300lbd delete.
What happened to the 0-60 and 1/4 races where 99% of the bragging rights races between these two cars will happen? Five credit where credit is due. |

A live axel is never going to be a plus on the road course but at the drag strip it is IMO. So that is really a trade off depending on which you do more. An auto 2013 GT500 would be a drag racers dream. live rear axle, big power, just brace up the rear, put some spherical arms on, add some slickes hello ten seconds and consitancy all day long. one thing I hate about my vette when drag racing is wheel hop and I am not a good enough drive to be consistant enough to braket race. It is retarded fast though for a stock car.
