Whole building was shaking, kinda felt like a huge frieght train went passing by. We had a baby one in July of 2010 which measured 3.2
but our house was just a couple of miles from the epi center on that one.
Kinda rare to get these in our neck of the woods, but this could be a start
of a new trend here.

Felt it here in SC! Was watching the Weather Channel on my recliner (about Irene which may very well hit here) when my chair started to shake. Minutes later they announced an earthquake hit around the DC area.

Sorry aboput that guys (and gals). I'll try not to rev up the car so high the next time I start it. My neighbors have said that their windows shake a little but I didn't think that you could feel it all the way over there!

Some want to blame this on climate change due to pollution, but didn't I read in school that this is not the first time te earth's axis has shifted causing major changes in the earths ecosystem. Infact I think i remember at one time the poles were where the equator is now.
every xxxthousand years (can't remember the number) the poles shift. i remeber from a while back (history channel, discovery, something) that the poles are supposedly going to shift in our lifetimes (give or take a generation or two)...i imagine its impossible to predict that kind of thing. the earth goes through cataclysmic changes from time to time...so you never know

I remember sitting through a 6.8 back in 89' in CA. THAT ONE WAS CRAZYYYYYYYYYY. I can't even explain in words how unbelievable the strength of it was. I can't imagine how a 9.1 would feel like some other country gets.
