No, it's not the same. Stink Finger is... well, think back to your high school days.

Almost 20yrs in the Navy and I have a total of 5 months at sea. Pays to work on aircraft to beig for a Carrier.
Yeah man, the Stink Finger involved one sailor putting his sullied finger below the nose of another sailor and asking,"Wass zat smell like?"
A fight normally ensued. Hella funny, it was...

..Any time a bunch of guys get together this is bound to happen. God Bless the USN. What I want to know is.. how good of an air scrubber modern Nuke Subs have in case Burrito night turns into a "Who can blow up the can the hardest".

I mean seriously.. chief. How DO you escape a fart on a sub?

You're question made me want to think a while before I answered because I certainly have been called hun or honey tons of times. I grew up in the south where this term is used quite often...but once I became an adult...I have to admit...the use of the term bothers me. It implies a certain familiarity that only close friends or family have a right to use IMO.

If you use the term because you can't remember someone's name...that's definitely okay. But if you know someone's name and you choose to replace it with one of your own...that's being disrespectful. Now obviously there are exceptions to this...but in general I'd say you're not winning any lady friends with the term.

To the OP....Dude if you are offended, get upset, mad or whatever you want to call that because someone uses these names.....All I can tell you is that you better never come to the South cause you will stay pissed off... Come down here and tell a waitress not to call you Honey and see what happens. I would not eat what she served.

Seriously you are strung WAY too tight of this bothers you Buddy.
