Xbox 360 vs. PS3?

Oh my goodness people, I have all 3 systems, and the best overall system is the PS3 as HANDSDOWN!! Last year it was all 360 in 2007, But as of Fall 2008 the Ps3 HAS THE BEST GAMES, Just about everthing the 360 has PLUS Metel gear solid 4 (the best game ever!!!), Motorstorm 2, Littlebigplanet (the game is like crack) Resistance 2 (better than Gears 2 IMO), Gran Turism 5 Prologue etc... And in eary 09 Killzone 2 and Infamous comes out in Febuary/March. The 360 HAS NOTHING IN 09, microsoft is preparing its next councole for an 2010 launch, The Ps3 Still has God of war 3, Granturismo 5, Uncharted 2 still coming.. As far as online experience Playstation home will be out in a week or so. Btw the 360 is ultmately a rip off, The ps3 will accept any SATA internal HDD, I switched out my ps3 HDD for a 250gb HDD for only $100, the 360 60gb HDD cost about $100 (Rip off). For the past 6 months I have not touch my 360 wth the exception of Gears of war 2, Why should I buy 360 games, When I can play it on the PS3 with free online. The PS3 also has more exclusives (as of fall 2008 and beyond). The only advantage I see for the 360 is that my friends with 360's out number my friends with PS3's about 2 to 1.

I went Xbox 360 for a couple of reasons.

the biggest being most of the people with both like the 360 better. The most common thing ive been hearing is that the PS3 is good at everything, but great at nothing. Also ive played both and didnt notice a difference in graphics.

The 360 is supposed to have better gameplay and better online play, which are the only two things id really be using the system for.

and finally for a reason that you mentioned above... the Xbox is gearing up for its next generation system, and i got the 360 so that i can easily switch over and upgrade once it comes out. The new Xbox system is supposed to be far superior to PS3 and include Blue ray etc.

I love Halo, and ive never been into any of the games that are exclusive Ps3 games.

I respect your opinon, but that statement is simply not true. Comparing the ps3 to the 360 is like comparing Gm to toyota. Gm are making great cars today, like the chevy malibu, Buick enclave, Pontiac G8, camaro etc... But there is a perception that toyota makes better cars which is bull when one actuall look at GM today. It is the same for the PS3, it had a rough start in 2006 and hard times in 2007. In 2008 Playstation finally began to deliver the goods, BUUTTT perception amoung some of the public based on last year 2007 performance led to perception that the 360 in 2008 is still the best gaming console. Which is simply not true. The Ps3 is a little more pricey but evething that the 360 has optional is Standard on the PS3, when you do the math the ps3 is faaaaaaaaaaar cheaper. And as I said the PS3 has the better overall game library as of Fall 2008, and God help the 360 in 2009, Sony has an absolute game blitz on the horizon. Gran turismo5 (best racin sim franchise), Uncharted 2, RatchetnClank Sequel, Killzone 2, Infamous, Heavy rain, Team ICO game (don't know the title), maybe God of war 3 (thoug I expect it in 2010) and many more up sony's sleve. Sony has more 1st party studios than Microsoft and nintendo combined, it was only a matter of time before they surpase Microsoft in games. BTW Sony will price drop the PS3 next year.

Microsoft has 10x more servers which results in faster/more efficient and less lag durring online play. Simple fact.


The games for PS3 that are specific to each system i dont care to play, where as i love halo. The ONLY game i wish they had for Xbox is Gran Turismo 5.


If i were to get the PS3, id have to replace EVERYTHING when the new Xbox comes out, where as if i get the 360 most everything would be compatable w/ the newer system.

fallout 3 is made by the people who made oblivion and it takes place in a post apocalyptic world and it is like obivion like guns ign gave it a 9.4

I rented Fallout 3 this week and I'm going out to buy it tommorrow. The replay value on that game is huge. Every little thing you do or don't do changes the outcome of the game. It's a fun and amazing game. I couldn't say the same for little big planet because I've never played it and really don't feel like it.

well call me spoiled but... my mother used to work for sony, so i grew up with playstation one ps2 and ps3 but there is a a certain amount of time you have to stay with the company in order to keep the system and my mom quit 1 year after we got the ps3 so we had to send it back

but i bought a ps3 with my own money

xbox 360
has a huge amount of games you would like
more players not the nicest(fbombs and n word on mic)
i have no clue what this means but (better online????)
a insane amount of players
and alot of other stuff that i missed because i dont have one



ps3 has
has good games but not as much as the 360 but there are some killer titles coming in 09
graphics are the same as 360 (i dont really pay attention to detail when i have a barret 50 cal lol)
good amount of people but most of them dont have mics
theres alot i cant think off the top of my head

Btw you should go little big planet, I have only read reviews about it and it doesn't look bad at all, fallout 3 ranks real low to me copmared to other shooting games since there is alot of great ones that have history like cod:modernwarfare, cod: world at war, and of course halo 3 (if you have 360). Im a real hardcore xbox guy my original xbox cost me more than my xbox 360, The xbox controller is more comfortable and the xbox 360 looks better i like the white and the ps3 is a bi**h to keep clean my friend has one and all you can see is finger prints all over the place and dust, yea you can clean it but you eventually won't once you get tired of doing it.

Fallout 3 isn't a FPS its a role playing game. Think about it as a cross between Bioshock and Fable

I have not really found many games that I Love on PS3...Ive been addicted to Forza 2, Project Gotham 3, Halo 2, Halo 3...etc. Ive got the new Grand Turismo and its aiight but the fun factor isnt there...Granted There are a few titles that Im waiting for...like God of War, but I have not been addicted to any Like I have on my 360. If you can recommend any titles??? As far as the online gameplay, I use my 360 and PS3 on the same connection and The PS3 lag, connection interruptions are annoying. 360 I have an occasional dropped game??? I will agree with you as far as the hardware goes though!

I love the 360 Controller!!! The analog on the PS3 gives my thumb cramps...lol

So along w/ the Wii that we are getting, I should get the PS3 or the Xbox? Problem is that our PS2 runs, but crapped out on us not loading the games we put in. So, I have all these PS2 games that won't go for $5 at a used game store. Won't be worth it to me to sell them back. So, I'm just thinking about upgrading.

Sound like a good idea? PS3? We don't get online to game and all...it's mainly for the kids as they are growing up.

Tag the xbox 360 is the better one as of right now. I remember that before the ps3 came out there was all the hoopla about it like a wal-mart lady getting shot to the shooters can steal the ps3 and that the ps3 is and the ps3 that and once it came out its the worst of the 3 it doesn't such but its the worst of the 3. 360 vs ps3 the 360 takes the win becuase of better online gaming better "gadgets" way more games, more big budget games. so lets move ps3 down a rank ps3 vs wii wii has kickass controllers thereforth the wii automatically wins by tko (Technology knock Out)

the only advantage 360 has is the online, otherwise theres a few small differences but they are basicly the same


360 is just more popular because it got out 1st and because of halo ( which really wasnt all that amazing)

tag, id say get the ps3, if your not gonna use the online features, at least get the one with a blu-ray player

xbox 360 TAG, it has a way better future ahead of it. Companys only know the xbox has sold 10x more than the ps3 so they decide to make more xbox 360 games and it has good exclusives like dead rising, halo, and gears of war and idk if forza is for the ps3 but its a great game also, since its for your kids the xbox offers more veriety of games from games for small kids to gory fun shooting games, the ps3 doesn't have much of the kid games most are just average games that are on xbox also or there exclusives which later come out for 360 and with more gameplay. and btw halo 3 is great for all ages some people look at it as little army soldiers and some as a kickass shoot your face off game.
