They're regional and a good fit. With Big12 money and recruiting they'd get a lot of the Houston area talent that leaves for the bigger schools.

They're 7-0 and ranked #18. They do play scrubs but Case Keenum is legit.

It's all about money in these days...even the NCAA is looking to allow schools to "ADD" 2000.00 to kids scholarship to cover the "Real" cost of attending school.

To me the Big 12 should add teams that are regionally sound....like Houston, TCU, and maybe even Boise St, Louisville etc.....of course Boise St would have to increase their stadium size from 35000 if they moved to a bigger conference.......

Loisville is a front runner for joining.

I dont see how Arkansas doesnt think they would make $$$$$ in the Big12.

You win , you promote and advertise and you make $$$$$$$$.

Ok. I have been under the belief that one conference could not be both teams in the NCG. I was wrong.

That being said, if you don't enjoy the LSU/Bama game next week, you can always catch the rematch in January.

I think that's the thing. These programs want to sit back and get paid without having to earn it. It's the draw of the big conference. And it's why I don't feel bad for any of the teams that claim the Big12 has done them wrong somehow.

Arkansas too. They were offered a shot at going to the Big12 north and turned it down. If they are so tough as people claim then they could go to the Big12 north and RULE there. Always play for a congference championship. But they'd rather stay as a whooping post and collect the money. Maybe get to a CCG once every 15 of 20 years or so.

Nebraska had a sweet deal. But mailed it in and .................. I better stop there.

There's no rule stating that 2 teams from the same conference can't play for the NCG, it's whoever is ranked #1 and #2 at the end of the year. It's highly unlikely they'll come from the same conference though. Take '06 for example. OSU was #1 and Michigan was #2, both 11-0. OSU beat Michigan in the final week. Florida finished the season with 1 loss also, but Michigan's 1 loss was on the road to the wire to wire #1 team by 3 points. Didn't matter. There was no way they were going to send 2 teams from the same conference to the title game. Florida jumped Michigan and the rest is history.

Nebraska definitely saw greener pastures with the money and stability of the Big10. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall? Beebe ran the conference horribly. Despite some down years they are a traditional powerhouse and they'll be fine.

My guess is that the Big 12 really wants to get back to 12 teams so that they can have their championship game again, and both Louisville and WV will be included in that expansion. The only real question is, who is going to be the 12th team?

Win or Lose next weekend, I really don't like re-match games in the BCS especially if they are from the same conference.........It's a no win situation for either team....if the winning team wins then they were supposed to, if the losing team wins then the record is the same and they are really tied so who is the real winner?

I really think that there will be a couple of teams undefeated like OSU or Stanford and of course there is always Boise St.......of course I could be wrong and either Boise St or a 1 loss team will play for it all in January......could even be K-State......

Funny thing is that is usually works out in the end with the only exception in 2004 when Auburn was undefeated, when OU and USC played.

This conference re-alignment crap is for the birds.....Boise to the Big East?????? WV to the BIG 12??????

These schools want stability, but the increase financial strain on just travel cost with the added distance does not make sense...It is not about winning and all about money.....Does WV really think they can go to the Big 12 and win consistently especially after they got blowed out by Syracuse.

I actually think Tex A&M has a better chance to succeed in the SEC, especially with the way some of the lower tiered teams play....They are going to the west with Alabama, Arkansas and LSU to name a few and they are not better than either of them at least this year.

Each conference has lower tiered teams like Vandy.....but I really applaud Vandy because of their academic standards they require just to enroll, they are a school that plays football and not the other way around.

Stanford seems to be the team that has the best chance to lose this weekend of the undefeated teams in my opinion.

Stanford could EASILY lose to Oregon or USC. Oklahoma will probably beat KState and OSU. If Clemson loses to GTech or South Carolina (both games on the road) then you WILL have the rematch with LSU and Bama. Oregon would still be up there and LSU destroyed them. Bama and LSU would be ahead of any other one loss team for sure. AND ahead of Boise. OU, Bama or LSU, Oregon, and a few others could be ahead of an udefeated Boise St. One of them gauranteed. Happens every time they go undefeated. No reason to think otherwise this year.

I hope they put OU in the Big12 north then. OMG, OU would RULE the north. Hell, they rule the north now.... just play in the South.

MONEY and STABILITY. That's funny.

It was UNs move that made the INstability. And and I won't dispute the money. Money is more important than winning. Nebraska spent 13 or 14 out of 15 years in irrelevency. ...........NEBRASKA............. They used top be an OU or UT. It was all laid out for them. OU, OSU, UT, don't seem to have a problem.

UN should have won the north almost every year. THEY chose to 'mail it in' and then decided they weren't getting paid enough. So they went where they could make more money. I got nothing againtst UN or anyone who supports them. But make no mistake, they have been underachieving for a decade and a half. And had they not done that they'd have been just fine where they were.

Where do your insider freinds claim the instability came from?
