And thanks on the ZL1 well wishing, Nicole. Really wish I got the Al O signed ones.. I'd have put those in my fire safe. o_o
That sounds awesome. I have a few of those little guys hanging on my bedroom wall.

I would like to just keep fuel injected, but....
I really don't know anything about that car.
...I think I see fuel rails but it looks like a typical Carb atop an LSx. Just like taking a GM 350 crate and slapping a manifold/r650 on top.

They sell bare blocks and blocks with rotating assemblies in them. You pick the induction system after that. I believe they sell two different top end versions to accommodate the EFI and Carb intake setups. I'd guess it was an LSx376 like Vinnies and then they bored/stroked it to 455. You can safely bore an LS1 (346) to 418ci iirc so going to 455 on a 376 isn't out of the question.

It's when you try to punch a 346 motor an extra 109ci that you possibly run into engineering problems.

Pity the Shakers never look right on anything after 1990..

Ah, now I understand. Is that intake a custom piece? That is a really clever setup.

It's essentially that manifold but with an adapter plate fitted to the throttle body. On mine I've got one that would bolt into the 'beehive' manifold from the front. That little black plate is one that bolts directly to a carburetor manifold. Everything else is wired the same but the cable/pulley needs to be reoriented.

Brilliant idea. Think there would be any HP loss there?

Less efficient as far as where you put the blade toward the airflow but with it that way it'll function no differently from a carburetor as far as air going into an intake.

Fuel is just injected into the port ala TPI in fact the more i think about it the more it looks like they refit a TPI ala the L98 from the third gen for LSx duty and made it out of LSx and Carb parts.

Injectors go in the ports, throttle blade meters air.. MAF is hiding somewhere in there..

All in all a gussied up TPI system.
