That Fiero GT?.... bad idea. The stupid thing would lift up off the road when I hit 85mph. (yes, I've always had a lead foot.)

Think of it as having a 4 speed, those first 4 gears will be the only ones you use till you get on the interstate. You're slowing but not stopping... 2nd gear (most turns). 3rd and 4th for cruising in traffic.

1 and 2, slow maneuvering (stops and turns), 3 and 4, good speed in traffic, 5 and 6, highway.
OR... I can get the A6 and never have to think about it.... EVER.

Deb, what are your worries about the M6?? If that's what you think you want - for whatever reasons - you'll learn to drive it just fine. The A6's are cool also, but sounds like you're trying to make an A6 into an M6 - minus the shifting part You can always get the A6's AMF tuned out - where it shuts down 4 cylinders. The M6 is so much fun to drive! 21" wheels? Hmmm...the market currently doesn't have a whole lot of options in that area. Better off with 19" or 20"...

Hi JS
That's EXACTLY what I want... or as close to it as I can get with mods.

My primary concern with the M6 is basically.... I don't like driving stick I don't get a charge out of manually shifting for every stop sign, traffic light, slow car in front of me, or highway exit ramp.

And I don't really care about wheel size. I could have been mistaken on the 21"(?), they were black and the chevy wheel upgrade.

BTW... I've seen your pics in some of the other threads, and your car looks awesome!

You don't wanna disable AFM till it's out of warrantee... Put LS3 mufflers on it and it'll sound exactly like the manual, but it'll flutter at idle and while cruising.

L99 is an LS3 with AFM.

Disabling the AFM would mean that wouldn't shut off the two cylindar thingies when cruising highway right?

? Define what you mean by "flutter" ? I've listened to the exhaust threads a hundred times and not sure if I ever heard one that sounded like a flutter?

If I went to a mechanic dude and said "put LS3 mufflers on it"... what muffler make/model would I be asking him for?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but AFM is active at idle also. AFM turns off 4 cylinders not just 2. It'll be the same noise you hear now, only louder LOL... But when you get on it it'll sing like an LS3

I'd get aftermarket mufflers, or buy lightly used from a local forum member... I hear they're heavy, so aftermarket gets the nod there.

The Black wheel options on the Camaro are 21" wheels...otherwise, she comes with 20" Midnight, or polished as an option. If your heart/mind is settled on the A6, then get it and go from there...You can make her into anything you want after that!

AMF is shutting down 4 cylinders...also, can all the stock mufflers and go aftermarket, as suggested above.

Enjoy the anticipation & planning!

PS - thanks for the kind words about my Baby I am having fun (and going broke) modding her!
