Anyone shoot or reload 300 blackout ?

Considering a Sig MCX pistol and am just starting to do some research on the round, so far I am liking the ballistics.

They were just colorful blobs forty years later. I assume methods, inks and equipment are better now?
Inks and artists have improved alot. I do not have any tattoos myself but my wife enjoys them. I have appreciation for really good art and tattooing can be there. Now they do 3d realistic artwork in tattoos that will blow your mind how detailed they can be. The tattoos you speak of are most likely traditional style tattoos and that has not changed. My wife has a few of my guns tattooed on her. I was going to share but do not have them on my phone currently. Maybe find the one of my custom ar15 on her side from armpit down her left side to her left outside thigh.

I'm getting ready to get into 300BLK. It really shines subsonic with a suppressor. Without the suppressor (even supersonic) it isn't anything special.

I don't have a suppressor (yet) and I was given a 300BLK upper and some components so I figured "what the heck?"

Yep ..... a suppressor is defiantly on the list. Thinking about a Omega 9k, it has great reviews using 300BLK and would be a hoot on our 9mm MPX pistol also.

Tomorrow start looking at what reloading additions I'll need. I have seen some are cutting the 223 brass and reforming them, but probably pick up some manufactured brass to get started.

I am really liking the thought of a 30 caliber subsonic round, out of a nine inch barrel, suppressed. Might be almost as much fun as installing headers and tuning my Camaro.

The difficult part will be making the brass. I have unprocessed 223 in various stages through ready to load 300BLK that was given to me. I have bought a Bosch router I plan to cut and trim with when the time comes using the fast and friendly brass Honey Badger trimming stuff.

If you don't plan on getting a trimmer that will cut and form 223 into 300BLK, many people have purchased a small chop saw from Harbor Freight and made a jig to cut them. Stripper clips seem to be popular to hold the brass if you use something like a band saw to cut them.

I put 28 rds through a short, FA .300 blk in Vegas a few years back...the extent of my .300 blk experience. About 1.75 seconds worth of experience.

That said...I don't get the lure of the round for simply a Range toy. It IS somewhat useable as a hunting round. But there are a few far more powerful rds available to hunt deer or pigs.

As a Range toy...just shoot a .223 or get a pistol caliber carbine.

As a suppressed round in some Special Forces/Seal Team 6 scenario...I can absolutely see it's purpose. Just too much BS in the reloading process for me.

This is not meant to piss anyone off...just me thinking out loud. Everyone is entitled to whatever cartridge they wish.

BTW...I was at an indoor Range when I shot the FA .300 blk and the floor was literally 2-3 inches deep in commercial .300 blk brass. Considering having to cut cases, FF, etc. I always thought all that brass under foot was funny.

For over 40 years my life depended on firearms, 1st career was as a United States Marine and the 2nd as a LEO. I am guessing this molded me into who I am today. For me it's very relaxing to go out and shoot for the day. My personal concealed carry is a Browning 1911 380 loaded with "Civil Defense" rounds. These lead free rounds made by Liberty Ammunition was developed shortly after 9/11. I use specifically this round in my 380, 9MM, 40, and 45 caliber handguns. The deliver increased velocity, accuracy and barrier penetration. 2 X the velocity and 3 X the terminal effect. In the 380 caliber round, don't be fooled when you read it's a 50 grain round! It travels at 1,500 FPS and is known as a "deep cavity projectile". I own and enjoy shooting my various H&Ks, the VP9 being one of the best I have ever shot. My local range (one mile from home) allows me to shoot up to 500 yards. I have a Smith & Wesson AR15, that I purchased new and have totally rebuilt the girl. This has to be one of the most accurate long guns I have ever fired for ranges up to 500 yards. Comes very close to the old Springfield M14 I was first issued many years ago. I have had the barrel, trigger assembly and bolt modified with accuracy being the main goal. The ACOG brings it all together. I can not forget one very important handgun that I have nearby when working outside, that is the "Judge"! That girl chambers the 410 shotgun round and I have named her the "snake charmer". Just yesterday I shot 3 of those slithery devils within a 30 minutes span.

Picked mine up Thursday. The factory front sight really is garbage.

Wow that is terrible ........ Springfield is taking a beating in social media and rightfully so, this coupled with their Custom Shop reorganization BS.......

Until Springfield states they were wrong, they screwed up or the like, I will not be purchasing any Springfield firearms or having any work done in their Custom Shop.

I have looked into this debate of getting a .300BLk and decided my next gun is a pof 7.62x39 as ammo is much easier to acquire shtf situation and the bullet characteristics are similar in a similar accuracy gun. For me I already own a .308 ar and very accurate 30-06. So this helped my decision. Obviously we all buy guns we do not need and just want. lol
