Only reason I attempted to look it up was because it appeared to stump folks (and I had absolutely no clue, so was curious about the meaning .. especially after the hints). I wasn't sure if the word qualified or not based on what I found ... so was asking based on that.

Feral ... animal-like, wild, untamed ... frequently used referencing normally domesticated animals such as cats.

Deferring next word to Texas2SS since he had us stumped!

I've never heard the word, but I'll try to suss it by examining its elements.

Lessee, "pathos" is Greek for feeling ill or sad. But that ending just doesn't seem to fit, 'course, what do I know?

Okay, I get the message. "Warren" is and underground burrow where wild rabbits live.

NEW WORD: "pumpkin" (part of a car).

Sorry ... have had a busy week or so, so haven't been watching the thread as much lately ... and I actually knew the answer for "warren" - DOH!

As for "pumpkin" ... are you refering to the drivetrain component, also known as a "center section" or "case", that houses gears that transfer rotational power from the driveshaft to the axles?

I believe it has to do with eschatology (end of the world stuff). The origins connect to the thousand year nonsense, et cetera.

Is I on da' right track?

Nope, but you are on the right track with it having to do with "one thousand" ... hehheh.

Hint: Roman

Hmm, could it be a thousand soldiers in the Roman legions?

Nope, sorry. It is regarding the distance in the old Roman mile ... 1000 paces.

New word(s): "Oxford comma"

(this came up in conversation at work a while back due to a song of the same name.)

Hey, hold on. This game is for single words only. Select again, it's still your turn.

BTW, I thought the Romans measured distances in "stadia". If not, I stand happily corrected.
