Wasn't in Chicago, but a few planes diverted to KSYR due to winds gusting to 60 knots at KROC yesterday.

Heard it was Crazy. Had some Coworkers that flew into ORD Went around landed on 2nd attempt and on way to LAS hit Severe Mountain Wave outside Denver. Met them at our layover Hotel in Vegas yesterday. It was quite a Story. The First Officer on my Trip said there is still lines down and power out from his Area outside Ann Arbor.
Did Redeye into PHL this morning 140 kt Tailwind over Ohio and PA and Commuted out just beating the Snow this morning. A buddy from PIT sent me a Photo of the slight dumping they got at their House. Showed him what our Weather was like here at home and he wanted to kick my azz. Vacation starts now and time for a Powernap. Don't want to see a Plane nor an Airport for a few Weeks. However, my Wife has different Ideas.

Can't believe I just stumbled upon this thread and just finished the whole thread. My first plane I got to go into was a B-17 and have been hooked ever since. I still remember that day and sitting in the cockpit and belly gunners. So jelous of some of your guys jobs lol. Took my son to his first air show last summer hopefully he gets hooked just like I did.

Great pictures? What day were you there? We went on Saturday and the flying display sucked. I think there were about 6 warbirds flying. On Saturday! They certainly didn't have F-4s or an F-18 flying on that day. I was so disappointed, that I've sworn I'll never go back.

I was there Thurs-Sat. The F-4's left Thursday morning. The F-18 flew on Saturday, but not until the night airshow. They took off just as the sun was setting.

It really needs more than one day. I have not missed a year since I started going in 1982.

Been a Bad week Besides losing two Family Friends, Lost an Old Friend that lived in Spruce Creek Fly-In Community outside Daytona in a Midair. He was flying Formation with a Neighbor which they did regularly, and something obviously went wrong. May they RIP.

Classic.

Made a Recent visit to Evergreen Museum Home of the Spruce Goose on a Portland OR layover. Wow was amazed the Musuem was Smithsonian Quality. Never Been and was like a little Kid. Now does anyone have an upload site to host Pics because the one have been using tinypic is being a PITA. Picture upside down not uploading etc. Thx

I've been around airplanes my whole life. Just retired from 36 years in Aerospace having worked at Beechcraft, Learjet, McDonnell Aircraft and Boeing. Loved it all.

Now I'm on my second career as Ive started a custom furniture and finish carpentry business.

However I'm still a wing nut. Just got back from Air and Space in D.C. If you haven't gone you must. Reno air races on the bucket list.

Thanks G6Flyer and when it rains it pours. Lost another Friend and former Coworker this weekend.We flew along with Gary in the other Accident at a Delta Regional in the 80's in the Northeast. Tom Had just spent 2 years restoring this Plane and was taking it on it's Maiden Flight. Caught Fire.Was supposed to meet up with him at Sun n Fun. May he RIP.
