Ok, I have a question. I have seen this on TV but can't remember what it's called to Google it to go buy it. It's a handheld looking vacuum that you can use on pets that isn't loud so it doesn't scare them. In the commercial it shows the owner vacuuming her cat on her lap and all the hair getting sucked into the machine. What is this?? I'm getting my ****er Spaniel groomed today since company is coming in and I want to vacuum him off too so his hair is everywhere.

Yeah, my mom is coming over to help me with the stuffing, and I'm doing the oreo crust tonight so it will set over night. My BIL and SIL will be grilling the turkey, and my mom and I have the other side dishes split down the middle. I stayed up until 11 last night cleaning the house, and since my mom had my son it went quicker and it will stay clean since she has him all day today too. Phew!! Thanks for the pick up, I hope everything turns out fine and I don't ruin something as simple as Mashed Potatoes.

This Sarah!! You really aren't hurting him by staying ONLY his friend if that's what you decide. You will be there if/when he really needs you, but make sure your new guy is aware and comfortable with this situation. You don't want him to get upset, but if he sounds as wonderful as you say then he probably isn't a jealous type. It also helps that he knows your ex and what he has been through. You two can be his friends together. You can do it HUN!! We have faith in you and you are a sweet person, and if the ex can't understand that you are wanting to still be friends. That's his loss!

Nevermind! I found it. Looks like I might be able to find one similar at PetSmart. I love animals, but for some odd reason I'm having issues with their hair. I know most ppl don't care and I used to not, but now it bothers me ALL THE TIME!! I have issues!! Is there a shrink in the house?

My Mom's Stuffing/Dressing Recipe

For anyone looking for a Stuffing/Dressing Recipe:

The night before you make stuffing:

Dry out the bread.

For 9 cups of bread cubes, use 1 ultra-cheap loaf of white bread and lay on the counter to dry over night. This will also stale the bread which makes for a better stuffing, IMO. I've also dried out bread in a LOW oven, but it's just not as good.

Make Giblet Broth:

Remove the neck and the giblets from the bird, rinse and set aside.

Using a 2 -3 quart sauce pan (the more water, the more broth you'll get):

Fill with water
1 LARGE or 2 Medium chopped onions
2 stalks of chopped celery, include leaves if you like
Salt and Pepper to taste (I like to use sea salt and 6-12 whole peppercorns depending on the amount of broth)
2 Bay leaves
Add the neck, gizzard, heart. Do NOT include the liver.

Bring the pot to a boil and lower the heat to a simmer, minimally for 2 hours but the longer the better.

Remove the gunk as it comes to the surface and then cover.

As the Stock cooks down replace the evaporated water. The longer you cook the stock, the more time times you'll do this. In the end you want very stong base.

Chill overnight in the fridge, covered.

ABOUT THE LIVER: fry it up and give it to your 4-legged family member(s) after it has cooled. It's their Thanksgiving, too .

On Thansgiving day:

Reheat the broth. Remove the solids, keeping the broth, the heart, the gizzard. there won't be much left to the neck.

Remove any membranes from the heart, gizzard and *finely* chop.

Make the stuffing:

3/4 - 1 c finely chopped onion
1 c diced celery
1 stick of melted butter or margarine
9 c of bread cubes
1/4 tsp of sage leaves
1 tsp of Thyme leaves
1/2 tsp pepper
Giblet Broth (from above) or a really good quality Chicken Broth
Salt

Tear or cut the dried out bread into bite-size pieces into a large mixing bowl.

In a large skillet, melt the butter and saute the onions and Celery.

Pour the onion-celery-butter over the bread cubes.

Add the sage, thyme, pepper and chopped giblets and mix thoughly.

Using 1 cup measure, Add 1 cup of broth to the mixture. Mix throughly (I use my hands, gloved).

Continue to add broth, 1 cup at a time and mix until dressing is a moist as you like.

Let the mixture stand for 5 - 10 minutes and taste test. Salt and pepper to taste.

Refridgerate the stuffing until you are ready to bake in a separate dish or stuff the bird.

Use the remaining broth as a baste for the turkey, or a baste for the stuffing if it starts to get a little dried out while baking or use as a base for Giblet Gravy.

Thanks Mom. Happy Thanksgiving in heaven. Happy Birthday, also.

I don't know what it is. I have had a ****er Spaniel before and I didn't mind him sleeping on me, on the bed, or on the couch. I had no problems, but for some reason I do now. I don't understand why. My hubby gets upset with me and says "Why the f*&% did we get a dog then?" I don't mean to be that way now, but I can't help it. I love having pets, and for some reason the last 5 years I have had hair issues.

There is good and bad with everything we love. All you can do is make the best of it. We love the pups but not the hair. I've never liked the hair but my other dogs were labs. The spaniels shed a lot and have long hairs.

I hate the hair balls rolling around. I'm really going to look into the vacuum you mentioned.

At the same time I know people that have gotten back togeather years later and are better than ever. It's your descion on only one you can make. You just have to weigh everything out and do waht's best for you

Good advice.

I think it's important to do what makes YOU happy. But realize that your family and friends probably aren't going to forgive as easy as you do. Trust is one of the hardest things for someone to gain back, and no matter how much you think you'll be able to trust him, you may find yourself questioning him deep down. You deserve a fresh start with a guy who wants to treat you like a princess and give you the world!! Ultimately, you have to make the decision, but I think in your case it may be best to start anew and journey down a new road.

Sorry I'm so late on chiming in here... but I've been through a lot of heartache as well and I know how hard it can be to be torn in a situation like this.

Wish me luck ladies. Today I put in an application to adopt this beautiful boy. He was a companion and service dog to an old man who had to go into a nursing home and later died. I know he must be so sad--and I pray he comes home with me soon
