appliance like, because some of the biggest and sucessful companies make appliances...

I'd much rather have a ZR1.

I agree, I don't think AWD on a Corvette would mix, it would cause more harm than good; add more overall weight and create a bad hp to weight ratio. The Corvette's main advantages come from it's extremely light weight aerodynamic form and hp to weight ratio,-change that formula and I'd expect performance to go down.

The Nissan GT-R on the other hand weighs considerably more than the Corvette "3,829 lbs" to the Corvette's "3,200-300 lbs" yet it makes up for the weight disadvantage with amazing traction through the use of it's AWD system. The GT-R actually starts out in rearwheel drive mode, but as the wheels begin to spin it applies power/torque distribution: 100% rear-wheel 50% front wheel.

It's something what you'll find if you actually read Nissan's website. For some reason, I was under the impression that it applied 100% power/torque distribution to all 4 wheels, instead of 100 to 50. (I might be the idiot) And as it would seem with that setup it has amazing performance.

As far as looks go, it's like a hot car to people who know it's a "supercar" but to regular people on the street who don't follow cars it probably looks like a modded 370z. I actually find the looks of the car mildly attractive, not very distinctive, but I think any Camaro will murder it in the looks department. Camaros=sex on wheels.

It's the best performing car under 100k. It can run with Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches. It's $40,000 cheaper than the zr1, which is already a performance bargain. What are you talking about?
Yes, I think it is my good mate, and I think that's solely because of it's AWD system,...not to take away from it's glory but I'm wondering, what do you think, would a 580rwhp Camaro be able to take down a GT-R?

"Take down" as in -pull past it and leave it behind if you guy's were doing a 1 mile race or 1/4 mile?

A RWD corvette in the hands of an excellent driver would out perform an AWD corvette, due to the AWD's increased drivetrain loss and weight. If you put an excellent driver in the AWD Corvette, there isn't much talent needed to reach good times, thus the excellent driver would most likely only correct minor, irrelevant errors.

The gtr runs the quarter in mid 11's. If a 600rwhp Camaro can run mid 11's, then it could stay even, but I doubt it would leave a gtr in the dust in the 1/4 mile.
And don't even get me started around a track...
It is what it is...It's a twin turbo v6 with awd that hangs with supercars with larger displacement, larger horsepower, large everything engines. It's impressive to say the least. A "ricer" in his gtr could beat 99% of the forum members here, at the drag strip and around a track, so they can laugh all they want.
Face it; Nissan beat Chevrolet at its own game of bargain supercar peformance. I think that's why there is so much hate on this forum for it

I would still take a Z06 over the GTR. And I like the GTR.

To me the GTR isn't an upgraded version of a lesser car. The ZR1 and for that matter the Z06 are just faster and better equipped versions of a Base model Corvette. Give me the GTR any day over them both. I actually prefer the AWD setup and that more than anything would sway my choice towards the GTR.

No, the z06 and gtr are nearly identical in the quarter, with the advantage going to the gtr. And around the track the gtr is the clear winner. The z06 is only faster on a drag strip past the 1/4 mile

Thank you for pointing that out........
As many reviews have said, once the Z06 get's going, no other car in it's class can catch it. I agree with you though, in the 1/4 the GTR and Z06 should be neck and neck identical, but if they were to do a mile run or head to the Autobahn the Z06 would leave the GTR behind.

If I was in the market for either of those, I'd want the car that can pull ahead and leave it's competition behind. I don't base my choice on solely 1/4 mile times only. As GTBOARDS have shown, past the 1/4 mile, the car with better or more Hp to weight ratio usually wins, meaning after the quarter mile, how long can you hang?!

It boggles my mind what kind a job must a guy possess to be able to afford one of those things! :upset: Any ideas lol?
