And hopefully you didn't get the 5.7L (those have been known to break cam shafts).
Firestone is run by Brigestone, however the exploader tires that delaminated were re-spec'd by Ford for their own personal OE USE.
Ford wanted Nylon instead of Steel, and lowered the recommended pressure and used a slightly stiffer compound for better fuel economy.

That's why the off the shelf Firestone's were never recalled.

And for the Tundra early 5.7 woes...It was an american supplier that flubbared..... What about all those pushrod/ modular motor recalls we've had...hmnnnnn..The 5.7 was also not TEI/DENSO(Toyota's Japanese Engineering Branches)...It was made in North America...The current generation Tundra's interior also mind you was produced by LEER.(Complete American Company)...

I wouldn't be frightened to buy any of those Lexus cars. I've 3 in my life and they've been BULLETPROOF. One of the best cars on the road... period.

It doesn't matter who the supplier is or where its based. The company that sticks their badge on the nose of the car is ultimately responsible for everything it leaves the factory with. Even if they subcontract out some engineering, they are still responsible for making sure its up to their own standards.

Bonnie has LOVED her S-350.

Her next car will almost certainly be a Caddy but for the record, we have been really happy with the Lexus.

I agree. We're witnessing the cycle shifting, here....over the next few years, toyota is going to fall out of public favor, and further lose sales in the US market. They haven't been doing well at all the past couple of quarters in terms of sales.

I can only hope the domestics will be quick to snatch up the market share.

I think they are making a pretty good push for that.

For sure. It's that fact that lets me laugh when people bring up past problems with the Big Three as some sort of vindication for these problems. So what?! We're in the here and now.

toyotas go boom, while Chevy's go Vroom!!

Hell, some financial analysts are predicting three years of financial losses for Toyota.
