SS = GT = RT, Z/28 = GT500 = SRT8

SS ≠ GT500 or SRT8

The only way for the Challenger to even compete (and not necessarily win) against an SS would be to spend the extra $10k for the SRT8. I'm a huge Dodge fan and originally preferred the Challenger, but after driving the SS and the RT on the same day I couldn't even come close to justifying the cost of the SRT8.

SS>>>>RT

Thing is, I only buy cars that actually exist. I'm funny like that. Thus, if you wallet is not too constraining, the list of available american muscle coupes to choose from today include....
  • GT500
  • SS
  • SRT8
  • GT
  • R/T

At that point it becomes a value proposition based on which car excels in areas that are important to you........price being one of them, but not the only one.

all these cars are so close in performance that it comes down to personal preference.

with that said, mine is the challenger and yours happened to be the ss.

Price is the most important one.

If the 6.4 model is only a $3k price increase, that would be a surprise, but great for those in the market for the 392.....

Different trims were different amounts. I think the SRT8 was $2000. It was an R/T that was up $3000.

Piss poor on the side of Dodge for doing so. Not only do they have the worst performing cars in class they are also the most expensive. WTF!

You're right I should have worded that better. To the 99% majority, price would be the most important factor relative to HP numbers when buying a new car. Then again, if price wasn't the most important factor relative to performance then I'd guess everyone would be buying ZR1s.
