Grammar is your friend.

Everyone needs to calm down. I can't believe you're all getting worked up over a MotorTrend article. Do you all realize how many times they've been wrong in the past?

This was not even a quote by anyone from GM:

I think the site has gone for so long without a 'panic' like this, it just got all bottled up and this thread is the result

As for the original quote id go the same route, V8 stang vs V6 Camaro? My love for the Camaro is strong but its not a Camaro without the V8 so id jump ship to Mustang.

And what was the idea with the RS SS V6 and Z28 SS? SS is the performance trim, Z/28 is a higher-tier performance trim, and RS is just a body kit and has nothing to do with the performance, im not really sure what you were getting at here unless saying put a V6 in the SS and a V8 in the Z28 which i would most definatly be against lol
This article is talking about the year 2014.....

And im talking about the 2011 Mustang, responding to the comment of "if the Camaro goes V6 i'll go to the 5.0 Stang" I know Ford didnt pour all that money into their new 5.0 just to ditch it before 2014, its staying in til at least 2015, probly longer than that (just look at the 4.6, it waayy over-stayed its welcome lol)

Huh? You think the 5.0 will outlast the LS engine? Who knows what ford or GM have planned for 2015. I would guess if the Camaro was forced to a V6 then the mustang would be too.

Coporate average fuel economy. Thats what it stands for. Don't think the Volt will affect the average much?

Wow okay, i guess i need to re-state the comment

If in 2014 GM releases a new Camaro on the Alpha platform that has no V8 option available and assuming Ford's brand new 5.0 can last to a ripe old age of 4 years, i would buy the 5.0 2014 Mustang over the V6 2014 Camaro

...jeeze im gonna need to call in a lawyer if i gotta clarify that any further xD

Hmm, very interesting. 2014 seems like a very short run for the fifth gen--maybe their keeping it inline with the first gen?

I'd be interested to see if they look to the second gen for inspiration, or if they build on the aesthetics of the fifth gen.

anyone wonder if just maybe some GM R&D personelle use forums just like this one to see what the paying customers want in their cars. Just MAYBE they will read this and be like "well jim, looks like we better find us a nice HO DI V8 to stuff in that baby" THAT would be awesome!!

I thought it was a safe assumption that we were comparing new car to new car, not bringing a 4 year old car into the mix...lol. Guess that proves the age old adage of what assuming does.
