Golf clubs have always presented a challenge to car trunks. Here you can see even a Rolls-Royce Phantom III can only accommodate one set.
Here, James Bond sizes up the situation and would likely agree with Number3 that the Camaro would present a challenge to golf club storage...lol The C8 Corvette's golf friendly trunk was a high-light feature promoted by GM. Last edited by 90503; 06-04-2021 at 05:42 PM. |

challenger is like dodge's corvette to the charger as the corvette is to the camaro in chevy.
i always consider the charger to be the more direct competition in the segment that camaro exists in even though it's got two extra doors. I would consider the heft and positioning of the challenger to put it squarely in the muscle car category ...alone. the relatively smaller charger then exists as more of the pony competition. either way, the market is challenger, charger, mustang, camaro. ...with corvette always trying to be too classy to play with us (and now with the c8...definitely is). |

Here's my '17 Impala with my bag and cart...plenty of room. I have taken three bags in the trunk, a fourth would have probably fit also.. The LaCrosse probably has a similar trunk....I've never put my clubs in the trunk of my 5thGen, that's what the Impala is for....

It seems the late 60s, 1970 Corvette is lumped in with muscle cars more, especially the 396, and 427 big block engines. Might call me crazy but I'd take a 1969 Corvette Stingray, L88 over a c7 Zo6. Something about 69, 70 stingrays and the big block 427s. |

true.the newer vette might be faster, but the 69 and 70 stingrays were cool.

Those big block engines were also underrated on HP and torque too. I'd like to see those 396s and 427s on modern tires. Not as slow as some think. The L88 was way underrated. In reality it puts out well over 500hp. But again their traction isn't as good as the modern cars. Also, the butt dyno feels faster on older cars because they don't ride as smooth. |

in general, people don't think before they speak.
Example: I followed my girlfriend top the local shop to drop her car off for an oil change. As I wait outside for her, the owner, in his late 50's or early 60's smiles and walks toward mycar. He compliments the car color and says he has an infiniti coming in the same color. I'm like ok, what does that have to do with anything. But, it gets better... he now asks if my rear end makes all kinds of noises like the Vetts do on hard turns. I say no, and I'm not sure what you're talking about. He says oh, its bad, its bad. Oh, how much was the sticker on that anyway? I'm blown away by his ignorance, owning a 5 bay garage and all. He then says, the problem with these small cars is you cant see out of them. Seriously..I have the top down and I say, I have a convertible I have no issues, none. Now he doesn't know what to do but say to me, excitedly, I just ordered a Hellcat Charger. Now, I could have been a real dick and talked about its weight, handling etc. But, that's not how I roll ... especially when the girl has her car in there for service. We end the conversation with him asking if the ZL1 has a supercharger, to which I answer, yes( he may have caught my eye roll)... seriously, people have no idea about these cars.

I think the negativity is because there a ton more mustang and challenger fan boys...they are like democrats.....they are cliquish and not very tolerant of anyone with a differing opinion.
In the Cincinnati area, you would think Dodge and Ford were handing out buy on get one free coupons, for all the Late model Challengers and Mustangs I see. I see a decent amount of gen5, but a slim fraction are gen6.... I was cycling earlier today and saw like 6 or 7 mustangs....the driving home, I was waiting to turn left, and within 30 seconds two GT mustangs with aftermarket exhaust passed me in one direction and another just like those two rumbled by the other way... Too many for them to feel unique... I imagine they have trouble figuring out which one is theirs in the parking lot... Last edited by Cmax; 06-04-2021 at 08:54 PM. |

Do the Mustangs ever challenge you? granted the SS will win when it comes to short sprints. Stang will eventually catch up but the SS overall is quicker. |

Wow. But look at the Chevy dealers. Some of the mechanics don't know that the Lt1 gen 6 takes 10 qts, others can't rotate the tires properly and you have dealers destroying C8 Corvettes because they don't put them on the lift properly. Wouldn't shock me if some Chevy mechanics are clueless about these cars as well. |
