I am aiming for a 2022 2SS coupe 10 spd Wildcherry tintcoat with a Kalahari or Ceramic White Interior (depends on how they look together), Sunroof, Nav, and dual mode exhaust,

Last word (?) from the OP
When I first posted this message, I expected to get a bunch of replies from you guys telling me you were going to wait until the last minute and order a 2022 or 2023 Camaro to keep forever as one of the last ones built - and maybe share what special edition you hope Chevy might offer soon. Instead, the majority of you said you already own your last Camaro, with a few of you holding out for the future purchase of a classic like a ‘67 or a ‘69.
Those “results” surprised me, but they also got me thinking about sticking with the ‘18 1SS 1LE I already own. It was a great deal and it’s paid for, I like the front and rear design better than other versions of this generation, it’s very well balanced performance-wise, and I can do something else with the $25-30K it would cost me to move up to a ZL1. In addition, Chevy has done nothing to convince me they even like the Camaro or plan to do anything special to celebrate its second death. So, until I decide I need 200 more horsepower (and really, who doesn’t need more horsepower???), I’m keeping what I have. Part of what made this decision difficult is the almost ridiculous increase in used car values during the last 6 months. In February, the dealer offered me $32K to trade; 2 weeks ago, the number was almost $36K - and he would have put it on the lot for $42K, which is about $5K more than I paid for the car 2 years ago. (The numbers in the KBB charts below are dead-on in my area, which is shocking.) The bottom line is that if you’re thinking about selling your Camaro, now is the time. |

I’ve said it before and I know it sounds cheesy, but my current car is the greatest car I’ve ever owned! I will keep it till my left leg can no longer depress the clutch!

I strongly suspect that the last Camaro I will ever own was in fact, the last Camaro I owned. Which was my 2018 SS 1LE. Amazing car but, I think I'm done with the Camaro platform as a whole unless something comes out to really pull me in--same goes for the Mustang at this point. I would be astounded if I found myself in either vehicle again.

However if I ever hit it big, I will also pick up another A10 ZL1. While the Dodges and Fords are faster in a straight line, to me the ZL1 is the pinnacle of the gas powered muscle car with no bad moves. And it is a great long distance tourer as well as a track monster. The Transmission is the ultimate automatic behaving much like a built automatic. The GM bogged M6 ZL1 Version was not for me. Although with a tune that can be fixed. No batteries for me in my fun car. But fine in my station wagon we call an SUV. Now a station wagon is sporty? LOL

I really like my '16 SS2, but if upgrade probably a ZL1.
On my list of 6th.gen preferences: 1. ZL1 2. SS1LE 3. SS The 6th gen " Alpha " platform Camaro has been one of the best GM Muscle / Sport cars, too bad that GM would let it die on 2023 it reminds me Dodge's mistake of letting the Viper die.

This is my first and likely my last Camaro. Admittedly I'm not a Camaro fan boy. I bought the car because it is by far the best performance car for the money. My ownership experience has been positive overall so far, and I absolutely love it from the driving perspective. If it continues to be trouble free, I will be holding onto it for a long time.

Depends on what happens with all the end of life speculation. If the next Camaro will be electric (a real possibility folks!), a ZL1 could be in the cards before this gen is put to bed forever.
Or a vette. I've been slow to mod my 18 2SS because these cars are just fantastic as is, but I would like to do some major track focused suspension work on it soon. With nothing but camber plates, race pads, and sticky rubber, I'm still cool with the way it is. And, these gen 6's seem to be frickin bullet proof! |
