I dont know but its not much more than the GT500. The Aero and probably the gearing thats limiting the so unimportant top speed MPH of the GT500. The GT500 should whip it in any drag contest and and at least equal it on a road course. The ZL1 needs the LT5 to be successfully competitive and a DCT. Why do you think Ford decided on a DCT rather than there own very recent co-developed wonderful 10 speed auto. Ford should be on top and has the price to go with it. Would I spend 80k on a GT500 versus a ZL1 in the 60's, no but I expect to loose at the stop light street action and on the 1/4 mile track. The GT500 should be a killer on roll racing also.
That dct is not superior for drag racing

It may not be, but put fords own 10 speed auto behind a 2020 GT500 in stock set up and form, and lets see if the DCT equipped Gt500 will or will not consistantly pull better ET's...?

Yes indeed, 5.5 NA, 8000 rpm, 600 horse, 550 torque, flat plane crank screamer.

It is crystal clear GM wants the Camaro to die.
I am denial like most of you but I believe it to be true.

Look at the buzz Ford has created: GT500, Mach E, Mach 1, Bronco. GM? Hey, you can get blue stripes on the C8 whenever we decide to build 2021s. GM can't even prime the pump on the just-announced ev pickup or the reborn Hummer brand. The repeated showing of the blue camaro ev on their social media from a few years ago is nauseating.

I wish GM would offer the following:

1. LT2 heads/camshaft/Intake manifold for use on the SS models.
2. LT3 (the developed and then shelved high output version of the truck 400ci engine) for a Z/28 or even package it into the 1LE SS.
3. LT5 for the ZL1.

I agree 100 % on what GM needs to do with the Camaro. Chevy cannot and doesnt know how to create hype. Look at Dodge with the challenger and the charger, home run after home run after home run. Camaro...squat .

Look at Ford and Mustang, not as much hype as Dodge, but a shitload more than Camaro. I am a GM guy thru and thru, I am totally disappointed with Chevrolets handling of the Camaro, Yeah I also am afraid Camaro is going to b put back to sleep even after creating the great 6th Gen and just letting it drown.

I will settle for #3. LT5 in the ZL1 for the last/final 6th Gen Camaro

Well, they did generate top tier hype for the C8, so it isn't that they can't but more like they gave up on the Camaro. The writing started glowing on the wall the moment they removed Al Oppenheiser. Sad, but at the same time we still get to enjoy the best handling and most powerful Camaros ever made.

I feel like this car would inspire me to trade up. I realize the 6th gen is a great car but my car is paid for and I'd need something like this to spur another purchase.

Agreed...GM is doing the ZL1 a disservice by not offering the LT5 for the ZL1. Should of been a option from 2020 on. I can't believe they would spend the money on R&D to develop a engine for 1yr of production.
