I'm sorry, don't scold me for this..

I got way more goosebumps and chills watching Jurassic World and only one huge chill during Force Awakens (i'm sure you all know which scene i'm talking about. Really hit me hard).

I never grew up on Star Wars but I recently watched the original trilogy and liked it. I probably missed some big details in TFA but I enjoyed it. I'm just saying though, to someone like me, it wasn't "OMG 95% Rotten Tomatoes!!!" quality.

I grew up on Jurassic, so you can bet I cried like a school girl during some of the moments.

finally went this week. 12 people total on a Thursday afternoon. D-Box shaky seats were a $17 fail. never again.

the movie? very good. probably needs a second viewing. starts slow then never lets up. some confusing editing and things patched together for a sequel. script could have been better. hardly one or two laughs.

the girl was great. the retro cast good. some of the other newbies - blah.

claims of " you'll laugh, you'll cry " um...not here. but some guy on our aisle was crying. we laughed at him.

i give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. definitely appeals to all ages.

I have a thought... which may contain some spoilers so don't read on if you haven't seen the movie yet...

Lots of theories about who she is and where she came from. I personally think that she was not a child of any of the main characters, but was a powerful force user on her own.

On top of that, I think that she was one of Luke's apprentices before Kylo destroyed everything. I think Luke hid her on that planet away from Kylo before he went into hiding, and told her to wait there for him to return. After that, I think he suppressed her memory of her training and powers, leaving only the suggestion that she needs to wait on the planet for him to return. This of course, being the major driving force with her almost panicked need to not leave the planet, and to go back to the planet to continue waiting. She knew she needed to wait, but she never knew for whom. This way, Luke protected her from Kylo and protected himself by removing himself from her thoughts.

I also think that she was taken there by Luke AND Han, which explains the Falcon's presence, her intuition on how to pilot and fix it, and if I recall, Han seemed to know who she was when he saw her. He acted like anyone who hasn't seen someone for a long time... but then talked in a way to not let on that he knew. Luke may have asked him to keep it a secret as well. Note also that the usually "Don't tell me how to use my ship" attitude that Han has is practically non-existent when she helps him to fix it.

This could explain several things. It would explain her natural use of the Force as she starts to encounter it again (a situation that would have never happened had Finn not had his own ethical awakening). It also explains some of the blasts of memories she has after she touches the lightsaber, including seeing Kylo and the Knights of Ren after what we can only assume was some sort of massacre. Those memories of course started to awaken her suppressed memories and abilities before Kylo captured her (before her Jedi mind trick, her resistance of Kylo's information grab, and ultimately her natural ability with the saber).

Finally, her presence was the only thing that changed when R2 "woke up", like he knew who she was and knew that she needed to make it to Luke. Remember that he was still sleeping while virtually every member of the cast had seen him, with the exception of her. It also may explain the awkward pause at the very end of the movie. I think Luke realized it was her, and was surprised that she was there, and not where he left her.

I like it. Is very plausible. I won't disagree with any of it, because it could come out that way. And would be awesome if it did.

After watching it again. Very plausible. Interesting way to put it.

Don't read this if you haven't watched it yet...
.
.
.
I had a free ticket to the premiere showing locally at 7pm... I was nice to skip right past everyone else that had been waiting in line all day for the other showings :P

Anyway, I think the theory above is very plausible. If you pay attention to what Han Solo says when they all meet up on the Falcon, he says that Luke was training knightS, meaning more than just Kylo... A lot of people I talk to failed to catch that, and just assumed it was Luke and Kylo training...

Theories aside, I watched episode IV, V and VI over the course of a couple days prior to going to watch VII, then went back and watched I, II, and III after I had seen VII (didn't have time to watch them all before the movie)...

All in all, I did enjoy the movie. But the plot points made me feel like I was just watching a conglomeration of IV and V all over again with some new people... Kylo I am your Grandfather... Kylo you have to face your father... Let's all fly down this trench to attach the Deathstar,,, errrr I mean Star Killer Base...

I think they played it way safe after the "failure" of the I-III prequels, not wanting to stray too far from the original IV-VI trilogy as to not piss off hardcore OG fans... Where we go from here with VIII and IX will be interesting for sure. Hopefully they don't turn into a big steaming pile of $4!7 moving forward.

He (Han) also stated that Kylo killed off all of Luke's apprentices.

Also note that when Finn tells Rey that BB8 has information on locating Luke Skywalker she says "I thought he was a myth!"

It wouldn't be a good secret if Han had said Kylo killed them all off except one.

As far her being aware of Luke's existence (myth), her memory of her interaction with him and her training could be suppressed, but she would still here the stories of what happened (Episodes IV-VI). Or... it could be a plot loophole which happen. Or I could be totally wrong

I was told that Han Solo died. To hell with the jedi and all their Mini-Floridians. I'm gonna go watch Episode IV and cry myself to sleep.
