No car, I repeat, NO CAR is perfect, they are assembled with thousands of parts made by thousands of imperfect human beings... You can take that to the bank...

I test drove Challenger, Mustang, and Camaro before buying my SS and went into it liking the cars in that order. I hated the Challenger as soon as I got in it, the whole thing just felt cheap to me. Even the sound of the turn signal struck me as cheap.
Frankly, I could have gone either way on the Mustang or the Camaro - if I had grown up more of a Ford guy instead of GM guy, that's probably what I would have gotten. I really liked it, but ultimately liked the way the Camaro drove just a teensy bit more. |

When I bought my Shelby, Chevy had nothing to compare to. A regular Camaro SS wasn't enough, and Corvette wasn't an option without a back seat. I buy most vehicles on impulse, IF you plan on waiting on the latest and greatest you will never buy a car because the next model year always has something better to offer. The ZL1 does have my intrest, but not enough to trade my Shelby in for one, especially being that the Shelby will be paid for by the end of the year and I have it modded to my liking. BUT I may be picking up a ZL1 also in the near future. |

For the longest time I NEVER thought I would own an American car. The horror stories I heard growing up and seeing. How parts would break and cars being left in the shop on a routine basis.....it sucked. Then I sat in a Camaro 1LS 2013 that I rented for work. I compared them to the Challenger's I have driven during a few times renting from vacations and work. The Camaro was the ONLY one that I could feel the power with the lightest tap of the pedal and got comments like I owned a gold incrusted Bently. Old guys talked about their old cars and loved hearing about the new model that looked great and had more power than they imagined. When my Toyota's life was nearing it's end at 230K I decided to look at the Camaro. I was given a great opportunity to get a low miles and cheaper car because it was a 2010 being bought at the end of 2013. I am happy with my car and can give two hoots less what others think really. Mustangs are nice but like many have said before, they are a dime a dozen today. I fear that, at least by me, Camaros are following the same fait to a point. I see a ton on the road today which is nice but makes my car less special to the market. Challengers are seen less but IMO are only worth buying if you get the R/T. In the end, we all like our cars for our own reasons. This holds true for the V6 and V8's across all brands. Enjoy your cars people and don't let others get under your skin because their company didn't have gov assistance.

That's good to hear. By the way, I'm just giving you a hard time. I have a good buddy with a Mustang here in Pensacola. He never lets up, and neither do I.

I bought my Camaro because I have wanted one since 1967 and finally was able to get one. Never drove a new Mustang or a new Challenger, although I liked the look of the Challenger a lot. Camaro hooked me 47 years ago, and I have no intention of ever considering buying the competition. Pretty simple... they can say whatever they want but I'm driving my dream.

People who argue about such things (such as Ford vs Chevy, Iphone vs Android, PC vs MAC..etc) are often debating the most common denominator of complex subjects and really are missing out on learning by keeping a closed mind and short sighted opinion based on biases formed either on antiquated or irrelevant information.
At one time, I was a GM guy 100%. After I learned the hard way that they too are not perfect, I opened my mind and bought a Ford product. My Mercury has been an awesome car and very dependable. I bought the Mercury Milan because I took the time to research and learn that it shared a lot of engineering and parts with a Mazda at the time which had a good reputation for reliability. Doing the research and keeping an informed opinion is the same reason I probably won't be buying a Ford product in the Ecoboost family. The other reason I learned to stop arguing or defending something as trivial as a car is because it is a car. I would only defend the honor of something I love, and I only love things that can love me back. Last I checked, the only thing GM loves is a profit for its investors. |

I'm a car guy. I have a Mustang and a Camaro. Before I got my 2010 SS I was looking at and test driving a 2010 3V Mustang GT manual, a 2011 Coyote manual, and V6 Camaro, a Charger, and a Challenger. I got my particular because it had less miles and a way lower price than all the other cars. With that said, I have been in arguments with Chevy folks, Mustang folks, and Charger/Challenger folks. I have won against AND lost against Mustangs, Camaros, Trans Ams, Chargers, Challengers, Vettes, and Vipers. But one thing is for certain, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge guys are all the exact same. The only difference is the brand they're defending.
I go on Mustang sites and they talk trash. And then I go on Camaro sites and guess what? You guys talk just as much trash as they do...maybe even more. To be honest, the Dodge guys probably talk the least amount of trash. Heck Camaro guys even talk trash to other Camaro owners. Have you seen the V6 and auto trans bashing that goes on here? I mean, just saying, I have never on any other forum seen as much bashing of the same car because it is a V6 or automatic as I do with Camaro owners. Guys on here talk more trash about V6 and auto Camaros than they talk about Ford and Dodge. Say what you want about Ford and Dodge guys, but at least they don't rip on each other. That says a lot. As far as the bailout that Ford guys love to bring up in every argument, Ford mismanaged their money too. Ford execs were sitting right there in those same meetings with the GM and Chrysler execs. And because of Ford's mismanagement of money, they had to totally reconstruct their management...just like GM and Chrysler. The only difference is that Ford took a chance and decided not to take the money that GM and Chrysler did. But they still had to make major adjustments. And even on a larger scale, banks, financial institutions, and a whole lot of other businesses and companies were hurting just as much if not more than GM and Chrysler. I don't see Ford guys switching banks etc and bragging about their bank not having a hard time. So Ford guys bragging is kinda like a homeless guy with $50 in his pocket bragging to another homeless guy who only has $15 in his pocket. So yea, Ford was hurting in a bad way. |

I have arguments with mustang guys all the time. Just as much as import guys. I have been in a few car scenes and had different genres of cars. The people that talk down on anything are a waste of time. Its usually a guy with a <200 HP Honda where 4 of my car payments would cover his entire vehicle worth. Mustang guys do like to use that GM has had financial issues but as someone mentioned before Ford has issues as well. I love GM, my father worked for them and growing up my family had tons of Chevy's ranging from a 1964 Corvette Stingray to a 2013 GMC Sierra. Every single one of those still run. I've noticed the people talking crap usually are one time brand owners or are sitting next to other owners of the same vehicle. If you want to go to a car meet/car show and talk crap about other cars go to a brand specific event.

A guy I work with LOVES the blue oval and loves to throw the "government motors" jab at me any chance he gets. We were talking about the Z/28 one day and he bluntly said the 2015 Mustang will out do the Z/28 at the track. I said please tell me youre kidding. I know we like to poke at each other, but that statement just REALLY makes you look retarded. He was serious. Im for all cars. Sure Ill poke at Mustang drivers but thats just in fun. I had intentions of buying a new 5.0 but my insurance would have gone up $150/mo. Im not brand loyal as my daily driver is a '12 Ford Focus. Ive mostly driven GM because I get employee pricing because of my grandfather. Plus I know how to work on the engine. Dont know jack about over head cams! Its just amazing how far some people will go to justify what they drive is more superior to what you drive. I could give 2 $hits if your car is better than mine. I got it, because thats what I wanted!
