I firmly believe in other beings out there, but saying that all NASA astronauts have seen aliens is going a little too far.

A lot of people mistake what UFO actually means.

Unidentified
Flying
Object

It does NOT mean alien spacecraft. Just because they see something floating off in the distance, and say "Houston, we have a UFO in the distance" does NOT mean they see a little green alien staring at them from a flying disk. It means that there is an object flying that they cannot identify.

Like I said, I'm a firm believer, but we have to think rationally here and can't cry wolf for everything.

I'm not saying astronauts have never seen anything weird during their duties, but like Overflow said, it's practically their job to relay anything out of the ordinary back to Earth just in case it could be potentially hazardous. They see something and classify it as unidentified because they truly don't know what it is. But that doesn't make it an alien spacecraft.

Saying every astronaut has seen evidence of extraterrestrial life is like saying everyone who's ever seen something out of the corner of their eye has seen a ghost. But that's a whole different topic.

Yup, UFO simply means you can't identify the flying object that you are looking at. And its a pretty big leap to assume that any flying object which cannot be instantly identified by the observer is of alien origin. There are about a dozen explanations that cover the vast majority of UFO sightings. Then there's the handful that don't quite fit into those categories, but again just because we can't explain it doesn't make it alien. There is plenty of stuff in every day life that we can't fully explain, like why we need to sleep or why placebos work. Taking the UFO approach would lead one to accept that we sleep because the aliens need 6 to 8 hours each day to download our thoughts. And placebos work because ... uh ... well, I can't even come up with a bizarre explanation for that one.

An example to back this up..

On Space Shuttle mission STS-107, on one of the first days of the mission, the crew radioed Houston and said that they saw a suitcase sized UFO coming from the left side of Space Shuttle Columbia.

That UFO ended up being part of Space Shuttle Columbia's wingtip. Which left a gaping hole in one of the spots on the shuttle that gets the most heat. The shuttle ended breaking up upon reentry and everyone on board died because during launch foam from the External Tank hit the shuttle's wing.

Because they radioed this UFO to Houston, it greatly helped the investigators figure out why the shuttle broke apart.

....Back to earth for a minute....My little UFO story....Unusually clear, windy night....bright stars and sky....Saw constant lights in formation south of me that seemed unusual and unfamiliar....They seemed to move strangely and change in size and shape...sort of had me going for a while...

Turns out, do to the winds, they reversed the flight pattern at the airport....night was unusually clear....It was planes in the pattern...lol....The sky looks different on clearer and crisper nights and you see different things that are always there anyways that you normally wouldn't see...

Somehow, I survived...lol...

Oh...and as Overflow has said...I think there is other life out there among the Centillions and Centillions of stars out there. Could be amoeba like life, could be something more complicated. However to think that life DOESN'T exist out there is awfully arrogant considering how you really only need carbon and oxygen to create simple life. I believe that it isn't out of the realm of possibility that intelligent life could also be out there. Laws of physics as we know it mean they probably can't travel here...though anything is possible.

For scale...

1 Billion = 1,000,000,000
1 Centillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 0,000,000

I've heard something like with our current technology to reach the nearest celestial body outside of our solar system would take 77,000 years...lol...(or something like that)....No matter how advanced other life might be, the odds of meeting any are pretty remote...

But come on guys, we have already visited other planets with our pathetic horse and buggy technology. There are billions of other planets and solar systems out there. Is it such a stretch that there are in fact other beings visiting our planet?

And Gordon Cooper, who was actually one of the original Mercury Astronauts did not say he "saw some unidentified object in space." His encounter was here on earth on the ground when he was at Edwards Air Force Base. You can youtube this I"m sure. But he clearly says an ALIEN SPACE CRAFT landed on the base. He actually filmed it and sent the film back to Washington. If a space craft lands on a U.S. Air Force Base, a well known fighter pilot and astronaut talks about it, what more do you freaking need? Just admit these things exist? Why all the hedging. Its a fact. This world will eventually be slapped in the face with this and all the doubters will eventually be silenced once and for all.

The Roswell incident is another great example. When this originally happened the air base commander released a statement that they had captured a crashed alien craft. Not a UFO but an alien flying saucer. It was only later when the higher ups heard they made them detract it and the cover up began with the whole weather balloon story.

These are facts. Its odd to me that so many people want to keep doubting. The evidence is over whelming at this point.

What other planets have we visited? Only one I know of is the moon and it's not a planet.... If you are talking unmanned vehicles we have only had one to even leave our solar system, not travel hundreds or thousands of light years to the next planet that may have intelligent life....

How you distinguish regular aircraft from space craft is the speed of the movement. If something moves unbelievably fast, faster than anything we have, what else could it be but an alien space craft? I have no doubt in my mind what I saw was in fact an alien space craft. We do not have anything that can travel that fast.

And as far as our knowledge of physics and the laws of thermodynamics and all that, I find it a joke. We are constantly saying "oh that's not possible" then a few years later some scientist comes along and proves what was once thought to be impossible by physics is very possible. We went through this with the atomic bomb. They said that by the laws of physics, it was impossible to split an atom of matter. Hmmmm WRONG. This has happened probably thousands of times, so to say traveling faster than the speed of light is not possible is narrow minded IMO.

Mars (probes), the moon, I believe we've landed probes on several other moons as well.

Calm down. Nobody's denying weird stuff has been seen. Just your statement that almost every astronaut has seen alien spaceships is completely off-base.

I didn't say "every" but there is a lot, you can Youtube it. How many is enough? Do ALL astronauts have to admit they've seen them. If that was the case, they'll still be doubters and skeptics. Nothing is ever enough. Look up the famous encounter during Trumans era when alien space craft buzzed the white house. He even went on national TV to talk about it.

One person, one lone astronaut, doubt may be warranted, but there are numerous astronauts and other credible witnesses. Cops, airline pilots, Presidents. What is enough for you?

And the extent the U.S. government has gone to cover it up only proves the point that it does exist IMO. What are they covering up if it doesn't exist?

Read the book of Col. Corso. A pentagon guy that was involved with it. Are all these guys lying or nuts? I find it hard to believe that there would be that many people that are either lying or nuts. Especially the astronauts and other pilots. These guys have NO reason to lie.

You can choose to stick your head in the sand about it, that's your right. But you may as well cling to the notion that the world is flat. Its really about the same thing at this point. Other intelligent life exists. Its a fact. They have technology we can't fathom. They visit us, its a fact. Its been going on since the dawn of time on our planet.

When I said are "all our astronauts" I meant the ones that have come out with stories.
