The irony of the situation is that this site is known for Camaro fanboyism over anything else.

I like it for the most part. The rear is going to take some time gettin used to and I'm not a huge fan of all the vents but the lines are sexy. The vents won't show to much on a black C7 either and it's going to be crazy fast. I would think mid to high 11's right out of the box and the Z06/ZR1 stuff should be nutz.

To be the benchmark, isn't an "at least" 450 HP enough? Doesn't anybody remember the ZL1 numbers? GM blew the original numbers into the weeds. What I laugh about is 450 is a "joke" a "travesty". But miracle of miracles 475 wouild the cats behind??? So a 5% change goes from a POS GM should be embarassd about to the benchmark? And that is all without GM ever announcing an official number. That's why some are picking on Revo. Here is a prediction and you can not the post number and the time and date: When the official HP number is announced there will be at least one thread about "why can't the Camaro have that much HP. It just isn't fair that Chevrolet gives the Corvette a better engine than the Camaro" Quote:

When the camaro was first released I thought the rear tailights looked terrible and a longer bar style would have been better. Now I don't care and I love the rear end.

I think it's one of those things where we are all so used to the prior Vette that it will take a bit for this new car to grow on us. I remember when the new 5.0 was introduced I hated the rear look of the car, now I own one. Give it a little time and you will appreciate the styling changes.

I like the new Vette. But I saw the test mules in person, in San Diego. After the final tuning is done, they should be ~460hp/460tq. But HP isn't whats special about this Corvette. The 100% aluminum frame, lowest center of gravity on any car under $200,000, 70% more rigid than the C6 Z06 (It will handle), a luxurious interior, all sorts of electronic goodies, 0-60 under 4 seconds, 50/50 weight distribution (WHAT?!), estimated 3,000lb target weight (that's 1,000 lbs lighter than your 400hp l99 Camaro), the most carbon fiber on a car from the factory under six figures, a highly tunable DI V8 that will respond fantastically to bolt-ons, estimated 26 combined mpg, and a torque curve reminiscent of an LS7? *out of breath*
I really like the new Vette. But that's just me I guess...

The new C7 can't and won't please everyone but an Objective/Open Mind > Subjective/Rants.

So when is 450hp in a base model Corvette that will outrun a C6 Grand Sport underpowered? I am just amazed at some of these comments.
My opinion is this is the best looking Corvette since the last 67 rolled off the assembly line.
